The mother of renowned supermodel, Gisele Bündchen, Vania Nonnenmacher, has tragically passed away at the age of 75 following a fierce battle with cancer.
The Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil confirmed the sad news, as reported by the Brazilian media outlet GZH. Nonnenmacher was hospitalized on January 26.
Gisele, one of six siblings, has always maintained a warm, close-knit relationship with her family. Her mother, Nonnenmacher, played a significant role in launching her modeling career. In 1993, she enrolled Gisele and her twin sister, Patricia, in a modeling course which paved the way for Gisele's highly successful career.
Despite her fame and the demands of her career, Gisele frequently returned to her home country of Brazil for vacations. Even throughout her residency in Massachusetts, and following her move to Florida, she still made it a point to spend time in Brazil.
Following her relocation to Miami, Gisele expressed her joy at being closer to her native Brazil. This geographical closeness allowed her siblings to visit more frequently, much to her delight.
Gisele is mother to two children – 14-year-old Benjamin Rein and 11-year-old Vivian Lake. They too, enjoy the vibrant life in Miami, where they currently reside.
