Recently, Larry Birkhead took to Instagram to commemorate the birthday of Anna Nicole Smith, sharing a photograph in remembrance of the iconic Guess model.
Anna Nicole Smith gained fame not only for her modeling work with Guess, but also for her marriage to billionaire tycoon J. Howard Marshall. Following the passing of her husband, a lengthy legal battle ensued over his considerable estate, making her a regular name in the news.
In addition to her high-profile legal troubles, Anna Nicole Smith had a reality TV show named “The Anna Nicole Show”, she brought her quirky sense of humour and larger-than-life personality to the small screen.
Tragically, Anna Nicole Smith was found unconscious in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood on February 8, 2007. She was later pronounced dead. An accidental overdose of prescription drugs, along with a bacterial infection and the flu, were found to be the cause of death.
This tragedy followed closely on the heels of another: her son, Daniel, had died of a drug overdose just a year earlier, mere days after the birth of Smith's daughter, Dannielynn.
Anna Nicole Smith's ashes were later interred in the Bahamas, alongside those of her son Daniel and her late husband. Following her death, a legal storm erupted over the paternity of her daughter Dannielynn. Anna Nicole had named her lawyer, Howard K. Stern, as the father, but this claim was disputed by Larry Birkhead.
Eventually, a DNA test was conducted, confirming Larry as the biological father of Dannielynn. Today, Larry and Dannielynn are a familiar sight at the Kentucky Derby, a regular event on their social calendar.
