Syrian War Daily – 13th of November 2018

Hello and welcome to the 607th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Islamic State attacked a Syrian Democratic Forces’ checkpoint in the village of Shuwaiah near the city of Manbij in northeastern Aleppo. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that four elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces were killed in the attack.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham repelled a Syrian Arab Army’s infiltration attempt at Tell Touqan front in eastern Idlib. According to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, ten elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed, including four snipers.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham raided the house of a Free Idlib Army’s commander, Ahmed Nahar in Kafr Nabl (Kafranbel), in an attempt to arrest him. However, Nahar was able to escape from the house, as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is asking him to surrender.

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded several civilians near the village of Al-Janoudiyah in western Idlib.

Homs:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device wounded six individuals on a bus in Al-Zahra district of Homs city.

Afghanistan

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed an element of the Islamic State in Narang Aw Badil district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) seized an Afghan National Army’s post in Saydabad district, reportedly killing seven and wounding several soldiers in the process.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 23 and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Muqur and Andar districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 15 and wounded 30 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two vehicles in Gulistan, Pusht Rod, and Farah districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Chora district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle in Tarinkot district.

Nimruz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khash Rod district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Mandikak area of Khakrez district. Ten elements of the Afghan National Army were reportedly and an element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a pickup, a PK machine gun, an RPG launcher, 12 assault rifles, and large quantities of ammunition from the checkpoint.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
