Aleppo:

First phase of the evacuation deal between ‘Fuah and Kafraya’ and Al-Yarmouk camp went into effect today. Syrian Arab Red Crescent evacuated five sick civilians, accompanied by 18 individuals from Fuah and Kafraya to Aleppo governorate through Al-Eis crossing. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham released 42 detainees from Eshtabraq village, who were also evacuated through Al-Eis crossing. In exchange, 108 Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s fighters and 33 civilians from Al-Yarmouk entered Idlib through Al-Eis crossing. However, it appears that the deal got temporarily postponed, as the first batch of around 1000 civilians from Fuah and Kafraya refused to leave the localities in batches.

Al-Hasakah:

CJTF-OIR conducted several air raids over the Islamic State-held village of Al-Fadil al-Qasr in Tell al-Jayr area, south of Al-Hasakah. Syrian Arab News Agency stated that the air raids killed at least 25 civilians.

Raqqa:

Unknown gunmen assassinated Syrian Democratic Forces’ commander Ahmed Kobani on the road between Al-Tabqa and Al-Jarniya. Separately, an improvised explosive device killed Democratic Union Party’s (PYD) official, Khaled Kuti near Ayn Issa.

Syrian Democratic Forces’ head of the Justice Committee, Ibrahim Mohammad al-Tayyar was assassinated. Al-Tayyar was reportedly poisoned with a piece of chocolate at a meeting with Syrian Democratic Forces’ officials.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham reportedly reached a deal with the Syrian government, regarding the full evacuation of Fuah and Kafraya. According to the previous deal, 1000 individuals from Fuah and Kafraya were supposed to be evacuated from the two localities, in exchange for Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s evacuation from Al-Yarmouk camp in southern Damascus. After the previous deal/first phase is implemented, the remaining individuals in Fuah and Kafraya will reportedly be exchanged for more than 2500 individuals currently detained in Syrian government’s prisons.

Unknown gunmen assassinated an element of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham near the city of Harem.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces’ Deir al-Zour Military Council announced that the group’s Al-Jazeera Storm (Asifat al-Jazeera) operation against the Islamic State is going to resume in eastern Deir al-Zour and southern Al-Hasakah governorates. The operation will once again be backed by the CJTF-OIR.

Damascus:

Islamic State executed Syrian Arab Army’s 1st Lieutenant Shadi Issa in southern Damascus.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 11 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Kohistan district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Security Forces’ checkpoint in Tash Kala area of Shirin Tagab, as part of the group’s nation-wide spring operation ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’. After this advance, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is in control of large areas surrounding the checkpoint, which are inhabited by more than 2000 families.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Army’s post in Qasmi area of Pashtun Kot district.

Balkh Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed four elements of the Afghan National Police and destroyed a vehicle in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, capital of Balkh Province.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 17 and wounded 14 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qalay-I-Zal district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Several Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices killed 12 elements of the Afghan National Army and destroyed an armored vehicle in the city of Kunduz.

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khwaja Ghar district.

Badakhshan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two camps in Tishkan district.

Baghlan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three, wounded one, and arrested one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nahrin and Pul-e Khomri districts.

Kapisa Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly repelled an Afghan National Security Forces’ offensive in Tagab district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News claimed that six elements of the United States Army and seven elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed, while eight elements of the United States Army and 11 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were supposedly wounded in the encounter. United States Army stated that one of its elements was killed and another wounded in eastern Afghanistan, without specifying in which province the casualties occurred.

Laghman Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Alishang district.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed an element of the Islamic State in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) district.

Paktia Province:

Three Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices killed five and wounded four elements of the Afghan National Army in Zazi district.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Joy Kar area of Murghab district, killing one and wounding two soldiers in the process.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded eight elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Waghaz district.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed a group of Afghan National Police’s elements in Gula Maikh area of Farah Rod district. One element of the Afghan National Police was killed and another wounded in the ambush.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle in Toth area of Gulistan district. Similarly, an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle was destroyed by an improvised explosive device in Tapa Awmandgan area of Pusht Rod district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 14 and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two camps, 12 motorcycles, 12 weapons depots, and seven ammunition caches in the province, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran a strategic Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Daychopan district. The strategic checkpoint was established at the top of a hill in 2014. Five elements of the Afghan National Army were killed, while one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and two wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a DShK heavy machine gun and five assault rifles from the checkpoint.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Nawi Norak area of Qalat district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jerashk district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Police’s vehicle near Qari checkpoint in Nad Ali district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Army and an element of the Afghan Border Police in Nad Ali and Nawa-I-Barakzayi districts.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed four elements of the Afghan Local Police in Urdo Balagh area of Shah Wali Kot district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two assault rifles from the killed elements.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Army’s convoy in Nayazo Serayi area of Nesh district and forced it to retreat from the aforementioned area. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and five wounded, as well as two armored personnel carriers and a Kamaz truck destroyed in the attack.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier and killed three soldiers in Seyah Sang Dara area of Arghandab district. Similarly, four Afghan National Police’s elements were killed and wounded by an improvised explosive device in Nakodak area of Dand district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
