UPDATE 26/1/18: Abu Duhur still appears to be under the control of the rebels.
Today, the Syrian Army’s Tiger Forces captured Abu Duhur town and the small village of al-Khifa to its west. This action, aside from securing a key objective, also serves to protect the airbase from any future counterattack the rebels might make on it.
Additionally, the distance between the rebels and the southeastern rebel pocket has increased from nine to eleven kilometers, making it much harder for the rebels to break through government lines and relieve the pocket. A conspicuous lack of rebel activity and defensive fighting on the Abu Duhur frontline seems to suggest that they might be preparing a counterattack against the government in another area, perhaps in southern Idlib or northern Hama governorate.
