Hello and welcome to the 669th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded two elements of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army’s Liwa Asifat al-Shamal in the village of Kafr Khashr near Azaz in northern Aleppo.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces captured most of Ulayat in eastern Deir al-Zour from the Islamic State, as clashes between the two continue towards Al-Soussa.

Islamic State killed two elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces near the village of Dhubyan in eastern Deir al-Zour.

Daraa:

Unknown gunmen wounded an individual in the city of Al-Sanamayn in northern Daraa. The individual was reportedly targeted due to his connections with the Syrian government.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed nine elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Khwaja Sahib Posh district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed three elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Qaysar district.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 12 elements of the Islamic State in Achin district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Badghis Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jawand district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed an Afghan National Security Forces convoy arriving from Herat Province towards Laman area of Qala i Naw district. According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News, four elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and seven wounded, as well as two armored vehicles and two fuel trucks destroyed in the ambush.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded eight elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Waghaz and Jaghori districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed two and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in an attack on a checkpoint in Andar district. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was also killed in the encounter.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded 13 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Arghandab district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Marjah district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Kala Shamir area of Maywand district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed and wounded eight elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Maywand, Shah Wali Kot, and Nesh districts.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
