Hello and welcome to the 617th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Raqqa:

Improvised explosive device wounded two civilians on a road near the village of Al-Ajel, southeast of Raqqa city. Separately, an improvised explosive device wounded a civilian in Al-Badu neighborhood of Raqqa city.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham reportedly executed six elements of the Islamic State, including two commanders over the past two days in Idlib governorate. The elements were captured after being ambushed by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and were executed on the charges of conducting assassinations and IED attacks against the Free Idlib Army, Jaysh al-Izza, Jaysh al-Nasr, and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in the governorate. Among the six executed elements was the leader of the group, Abu al-Bara Muradis.

Unknown gunmen assassinated two prominent media activists; Raed al-Fares and Hamoud Junaid in the center of Kafr Nabl (Kafranbel).

Hama:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham arrested a former commander of the defunct Free Syrian Army’s Al-Wiyat Ahfad al-Rasul, Maher Khalil in the city of Kafr Zita. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham also reportedly confiscated Khalil’s motorcycle, vehicle, and weapon.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces’ Media Center released a report regarding today’s encounters with the Islamic State in the governorate;

Completion of the” battle to defeat terrorism “to eliminate the remnants of IS’ organization the terrorist in the remaining areas in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, with the direct support of the International Coalition, our forces in the early hours on Friday morning, 23 November, repelled strongly to simultaneous attacks carried out by IS’ gangs in different directions against the positions and concentation of SDF’s fighters on the axis of Hajin town , Using Dushka weapons, armored vehicles and booby –trapped vehicles.

Violent clashes and fierce battles erupted on more than one point, and the terrorists were forced to retreat under the blows of our fighters.

The clashes and confrontations that lasted until Friday afternoon resulted in the killing of 15 terrorists and the wounding of 10 others. SDF’s fighters were able to seize a Kalashnikov gun, a military pocket, a communications device (Hitra) and a first aid kit.

On the same axis, terrorists resumed their attack on the positions of our fighters, which led to the outbreak of confrontations killing 2 terrorists,Booby –Trapped vehicle was destroyed near the concentration of our fighters , As well as a small-size reconnaissance aircraft

In another direction on the same axis, our forces managed to destroy another booby- Trapped vehicle before reaching its target.

10 raids have been carried out by Internationl coalition against positions and fortifications of terrorists, resulted in killing 10 terrorists , destroying 5 sites, trench used by terrorists to hide and move, and two vehicles loaded with Dushka weapons.

The final result of the clashes today as follows:

· International coalition air strikes: 10 raids

· Terrorists killed: 27 terrorists

· Terrorist losses:

1. Destruction / 2 /Booby-Trapped vehicles. 2. Destruction of a reconnaissance aircraft. 3. Destruction / 2 / vehicle loaded with Dushka weapons

Weapons seized by our fighters:

1 – Kalashnikov rifle. 2 – Military Corps. 3. Communication device / Hitra /. 4. First aid kit “.

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that 13 elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces were killed in an attack northeast of the village of Al-Kashma. Similarly, the agency claimed that six elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces were killed and several captured in an attack near Hajin.

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded two civilians in Al-Basira in eastern Deir al-Zour.

Daraa:

Unknown gunmen killed one and wounded one element of the Syrian Arab Army on the road between Nawa and Jasim. A group calling itself “Al-Muqawama al-Shabiya” (Popular Resistance) claimed responsibility for the incident, also vowing to conduct more attacks.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 21 and wounded 14 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Gurziwan district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the Afghan National Security Forces retreated from six checkpoints in Baish Qara and Noghali Payan areas of Almar district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly captured the checkpoints after the retreat. Separately, Al-Emarah News claimed that an Afghan National Army’s commander, Haji Muhammad Salih and 19 elements of the army surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nokala area of Gurziwan district.

Balkh Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as cleared several areas in Chahar Bolak district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three and wounded one element of the Afghan National Security Forces in Chimtal district.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 17 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Archi (Dasht-e Archi) district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two motorcycles in Nahri Saraj and Marjah districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan Local Police in Tangano Godar area of Nawa-I-Barakzayi district.
