Aleppo:

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) Media Center stated that nine elements of the Turkish Armed Forces and the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army were killed in operations conducted by the group in Afrin region. Full statement by the Media Center;

Our units continue their operations against Turkish army and its jihadist allies in Afrin. Between 29 July and 2 August, our forces carried out a series of operations targeting Turkish troops and mercenaries which resulted in the death of at least 9 terrorists.

1. On July 29 our units targeted a military vehicle belonging to the terrorists of Ahrar al-Sham on the road between villages of Faferteen and Burj Haidar of Afrin’s Sherawa district. The car has been destroyed but the number of casualties couldn’t be determined.

2. On July 30 our units targeted a group of terrorists of Hamzah Brigade with a motorcycle bomb in Basutah village of Afrin’s Sherawa district. A Turkish soldier and 4 mercenaries have been killed, 3 others have been injured seriously in the action.

3. On August 2, our forces have ambushed a jeep vehicle carrying a number of terrorists in village of Kimara of Afrin’s Sherawa district. A Turkish soldier and 3 terrorists have been killed, 2 others have been injured.

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device / landmine killed at least 14 displaced civilians near the village of Fafin, north of Aleppo. The incident occurred when the displaced civilians attempted to reach the city of Aleppo using dirt roads. The civilians were from Burj al-Qas village in Azaz area and from Maabatli and Isko in Afrin region.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham conducted security operations in Khan Sheikhoun and Madaya, targeting Islamic State’s cells and individuals who promote reconciliation with the Syrian government. According to the reports, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham arrested around 17 individuals during the operations.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham detained Free Syrian Army’s commander and leader of military council in Hazarin, Ahmed Qantari (Abu Hamza) at a checkpoint on the road between Kafr Nabl and Hazarin. Qantari also formerly acted as military commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Hurras al-Sham (Harakat Hurras al-Sham).

Hama:

Hurras al-Deen raided Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the village of Furu in northwestern Hama. Reports claimed that ten elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in the raid.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran an Afghan National Army’s post in Faizabad area of Shirin Tagab district. Eight elements of the Afghan National Army were reportedly killed and nine wounded, as well as three vehicles destroyed in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an armored vehicle, three PK machine guns, five assault rifles, two RPG launchers, and large quantities of ammunition from the post.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Archi (Dasht-e Archi) district.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded eight elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nari district.

Parwan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News claimed that several improvised explosive devices targeted a United States Army’s armored vehicle in Bagram district. According to Al-Emarah News, four elements of the United States Army were killed by the explosions.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic State and destroyed a tunnel in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar district.

Paktika Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Omna district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Farah district. Separately, two elements of the Afghan National Police were killed in an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s attack on a checkpoint in Ruj area of Farah district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed three elements of the Afghan National Army, including a commander in Nawi Shafakhana area of the city of Farah.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle, killing three elements of the army, including commander Abdul Ahad in Garani area of Bala Buluk district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tarinkot district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed five elements of the Afghan National Police in Lablan and Kondyan areas of Deh Rawud district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces raided two Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s prisons in Kajaki district, freeing 61 individuals held by the group according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and seven wounded, as well as ten kilograms (22 pounds) of opium seized in the raids.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed four elements of the Afghan National Army in Maktab area of Jerashk district. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed five elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Jerashk district.
