Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham raided a house of an individual accused of participating and conducting assassinations and improvised explosive device attacks in the governorate. The individual blew himself up with an explosive belt during the raid. Reports suggest that the individuals is accused of planting two improvised explosive devices on the road between Kansafra and Balyun, as well as assassinating Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s commander, Abu Ahmed Madaris.

Unknown gunmen opened fire on a vehicle of Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir’s (National Liberation Front) Faylaq al-Sham on the road between Saraqib and Ariha. Two elements of Faylaq al-Sham were killed and several wounded in the incident. Similarly, unknown gunmen opened fire on a Faylaq al-Sham’s checkpoint near the village of Marzaf, killing two elements of the group. The gunmen were reportedly arrested by Suqour al-Sham and handed over to Faylaq al-Sham.

Daraa:

Syrian Arab Army and allies captured Bosra al-Harir and Maliha al-Atash, as well as Madajin area from the rebel factions in northeastern Daraa governorate. Clashes between the two sides are now concentrated at the outskirts of Nahata and Al-Harak. Syrian Arab Army’s Brigadier General Sami Fayiz al-Muhithawi (Abu Yaroub) was killed in the battles for Bosra al-Harir. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, the Syrian Arab Army destroyed a rebel tank and two BMPs during today’s advances, as well as killed at least 19 rebel fighters in the past two days.

Free Syrian Army and the Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid reached a temporary truce in the governorate. The truce went into effect two days ago and is expected to last for a month, after which negotiations between the two parties will take place. The truce was requested by Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid and was mediated by the ‘Hayat al-Islah fi Houran’ (Houran Reform Commission).

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Shirin Tagab and Khwaja Sahib Posh districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s post in Chichakto area of Qaysar district. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and two wounded in the encounter.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic State in Wata Pur district.

Islamic State conducted a suicide attack targeting a gathering of the Afghan Local Police in Suki district. Reports suggest that eight elements of the Afghan Local Police were killed and four wounded by the explosion, while the Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the explosion killed 13 and wounded five elements.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten and arrested three elements of the Islamic State in Nazyan district. Islamic State killed three and wounded four elements of the Afghan Local Police in Murjal area of Nazyan district.

Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed two elements of the Afghan National Police in the city of Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar Province.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 35 and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jalrez district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Army’s convoy in Sultan Khel and Patang areas of Saydabad district. Two elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and two wounded, while two supply trucks and two other vehicles were also destroyed in the encounter.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Ahmad Khel district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle in Mashka area of Ahmad Khel district.

Ghor Province:

Residents of Poy and Kenean areas in Du Layna district pledged their allegiance to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The aforementioned areas consist of more than 500 families, under the leadership of commander Sahhi Dad. The commander reportedly handed over 30 assault rifles, two PK machine guns, and an RPG launcher to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers targeted several Afghan National Army’s checkpoints, killing two elements in Jabawal area of the city of Ghazni.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed two elements of the Afghan National Police in Janjali Pul area of Farah Rod district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group handed over two wounded elements of the Afghan National Police to the ‘International Committee of the Red Cross’ in Janjali Pul area of Farah Rod district.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed five elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Nad Ali, Jerashk, and Nawa-I-Barakzayi districts.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided several Afghan National Army’s checkpoints in Sar Nawi area of Miyanishin district, reportedly killing and wounding seven elements.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Sara Sakhar area of Shah Wali Kot district.

CJTF-OIR:

Between the 18th and the 24th of June 2018 CJTF-OIR has conducted 28 strikes in Syria. CJTF-OIR‘s main focus in Syria at the moment is Deir al-Zour-Albu Kamal region where they did 22 strikes supporting SDF‘s operations against IS destroying 12 IS supply routes, an IS supply cache, two IS logistics hubs, and five IS vehicles.

Other areas where six strikes occurred are Al-Shadaddi and Palmyra, destroying an IS tactical vehicle, an IS logistics hub, two IS vehicles, two IS mortar systems, and an IS fighting position. Full report on CJTF-OIR strikes conducted in both Syria & Iraq can be found here.
