Aleppo:

Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh al-Sharqiya released a statement denying yesterday’s reports about its elements clashing with the Turkey-backed Free Police in the city of Al-Bab. According to the new reports, elements of the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Jabhat al-Shamiyah (Levant Front) clashed with the Turkey-backed Free Police in the city of Al-Bab yesterday, after the latter’s elements approached elements of the group who were verbally harassing women at a shopping mall in the city. Three civilians were reportedly wounded in the clashes between the two.

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) cell attacked a Free Syrian Army’s checkpoint on the road between Sharan and Qartqlaq. Reports suggest that at least one element of the YPG was killed in clashes, before withdrawing from the area, while the Free Syrian Army’s casualties are unknown.

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device exploded near the main market in the city of Jarabulus. According to the reports, at least four civilians were killed and six wounded by the explosion.

Turkey-backed Free Police reportedly seized a vehicle carrying 137 kilograms (302 pounds) of drugs in the village of Akhtarin. The drugs were hidden in a refrigerator covered with wooden planks.

Raqqa:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed one and wounded four civilians in the area between Raqqa’s old and new bridge in the city of Raqqa.

Latakia:

Free Syrian Army’s 2nd Coastal Division targeted elements of the Syrian Arab Army with two Fagot anti-tank guided missiles near Tell Ziyara in Jabal Turkman region. Around ten elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed and wounded by the targeting.

Idlib:

Unknown explosion caused a building to collapse in the city of Ariha, killing at least three and wounding five civilians. Several dozens of civilians were reportedly trapped under the rubble, as the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets) were attempting to pull them out. Reports suggest that the cause of the explosion was an improvised explosive device.

Deir al-Zour:

Islamic State reportedly publicly burned an element of the Syrian Democratic Forces in Al-Soussa. The burned element of the Syrian Democratic Forces was reportedly captured in clashes around Al-Baghouz, earlier in May.

Daraa:

Rebel Sad al-Bagha operations room released a statement announcing that the operations room conducted three ambushes against the Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid near the village of Hayt. Reports suggest that seven elements of Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid were killed in the ambushes, while one element of the group decided to defect.

Jaysh al-Islam and several factions of the Free Syrian Army arrested three elements of the Islamic State in Al-Malahiyah al-Sharqiyah, as the elements were attempting to cross rebel-held areas from the areas under the control of the Syrian Arab Army to the areas under the control of the Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid. The arrested elements were recently evacuated from southern Damascus to desertous area between Homs and Deir al-Zour governorates. The arrested elements reportedly admitted to attempting to reach Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid-held areas. Free Syrian Army’s factions will hand over the elements to the ‘House of Justice in Houran’, once they finish the initial investigation.

Afghanistan

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 16 and wounded 28 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Dashti Qala and Khwaja Ghar districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group conducted an operation against the Afghan National Security Forces in Dashti Qala district, seizing control of the district’s administration center, along with all of its checkpoints, military installations, and Afghan National Police’s headquarters. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly captured four elements of the Afghan Local Police, including commander Zabit Alam in the operation, as well as destroyed three armored vehicles. Similarly, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan conducted a large attack against the Afghan National Security Forces in Khawajah Bahawodin district, overrunning over a dozen of posts and large areas in the district. Clashes between the two are still continuing around the district’s center.

Badakhshan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 19 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Kohistan district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Spokesman of the Afghan National Police in Badakhshan Province stated that the Afghan National Security Forces cleared Kohistan district from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s presence, killing 28 and wounding 40 elements of the group in total.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan repelled an Afghan National Army’s offensive in Raghistan district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that five elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and eight wounded in the encounter. Three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and four wounded in the encounter.

Baghlan Province:

Five elements of the Afghan Local Police defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, handing over five assault rifles and two PK machine guns to the group in Burka district.

Kapisa Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commander, Qari Seyyatullah in Alasay district.

Kabul Province:

Islamic State’s elements attacked the new building of the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs in the city of Kabul. Several explosions were also heard as the group clashed with the Afghan National Security Forces around the buildings, with reports suggesting that ten elements that conducted the attack were suicide attackers. Besides the ten elements of the Islamic State, an element of the Afghan National Police was killed in the encounter.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 17 elements of the Islamic State and destroyed a base in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed three and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Police Chaparhar district. Separately, an Afghan National Police’s element was killed by an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper in Ghani Khel district.

Islamic State’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle, as well as killed two and wounded three soldiers on a road near the city of Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar Province.

Logar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed an Afghan National Army’s convoy in the city of Pol-e Alam, capital of Logar Province. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and three wounded, as well as two vehicles destroyed in the ambush. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed in the encounter.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle, killing three soldiers in Charkh district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed a vehicle, a motorcycle, and headquarters in Andar, Ajristan, and Muqur districts.

National Directorate of Security arrested two gunmen carrying pistols and military uniforms in the city of Ghazni. The arrested gunmen were reportedly involved in several assassinations in Ghazni city.

Urozgan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ convoy arriving to Speni Khawri and Khanqi areas of Tarinkot district from Chora district. Two Afghan National Security Forces’ armored personnel carriers were destroyed in the attack.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Chato Pol area of Deh Rawud district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jerashk and Nad Ali districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Afghan National Security Forces conducted a special operation, targeting an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s prison in Jat Sur Kariz village of Kajaki district. The security forces killed four and arrested one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as freed 103 individuals, who were imprisoned in the prison.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan Local Police’s checkpoint in Tangano Godar area of Nawa-I-Barakzayi district. Four elements of the Afghan Local Police were killed in the encounter.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that an SVBIED operation targeted headquarters of the Afghan National Police and the National Directorate of Security in Jerashk district. According to the Al-Emarah News, the headquarters were completely destroyed, several elements killed and wounded, as well as several vehicles destroyed by the explosion. According to the Helmand governor’s office, three individuals were wounded in the incident.
