Aleppo:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is preparing to open a commercial crossing with the Syrian government-held areas between the towns of Al-Eis and Al-Hadher in southern Aleppo. Reports suggest that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s elements already started to remove roadblocks, rubble, and improvised explosive devices on the road between the two towns. By opening the crossing between Al-Eis and Al-Hadher, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is attempting to compensate its loss of Morek crossing to Jabhat Tahrir Suriya, which was providing the group with thousands of dollars a day. According to the reports, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham kept attacking Jabhat Tahrir Suriya-held areas in western Aleppo, in order to prevent the latter from opening a crossing with the Syrian government-held areas in Rashideen area.

Rebel “guerrilla” group Harakat al-Qiyam assassinated two elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the northern Aleppo region.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham rejected “Union of Popular Initiatives” launched by several scholars, sheikhs, and civic activists, aimed at stopping the fighting between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhat Tahrir Suriya (Ahrar al-Sham and Harakat Nour al-Deen al-Zenki). However, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham stated that it is ready to conduct negotiations directly with Jabhat Tahrir Suriya. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s main problem with “Union of Popular Initiatives” is that it was launched by Faylaq al-Sham, and previous mediations by the group didn’t achieve any progress in the negotiations between the two.

The evacuation of Jaysh al-Islam’s elements and their families is expected to restart once the group resolves its internal differences.
