Syrian War Daily – 29th of July 2019

Hello and welcome to the 865th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:


Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded one element of Ahrar al-Sham in the city of Jindires in Afrin region. The wounded element was reportedly transferred to a hospital in Turkey.

Unexploded ordnance wounded three civilians near the city of Al-Atarib in western Aleppo.


Hayat Tahrir al-Sham raided an Islamic State’s cell in the city of Saraqib. One element of the cell reportedly blew himself up after getting surrounded, killing five other elements of the cell and three children. The elements of the cell reportedly arrived from Homs governorate about ten days ago.


Syrian Arab Army captured the village of Al-Jubain from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front).

Parwan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 40 and arrested 13 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Ghorband district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed nine and wounded 14 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khogyani and Giro districts.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News claimed that the group took over Mizan district’s administration center and nearby Afghan National Security Forces’ installations.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed four elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Band Baraq area of Jerashk district.


CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
