Syrian War Daily – 9th of July 2019

Hello and welcome to the 845th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:


Operations room “Wa Harid al-Muminin” (And Incite the Believers), backed by Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front) launched a large-scale raid against the Syrian Arab Army targeting the village of Atirah and around a dozen of hills in northern Latakia. Reports claimed that several dozen of Syrian Arab Army’s elements were killed and wounded in the raid, as well as four elements captured and three tanks destroyed.

Rebel forces shelled Jourin and Ayn Salimo in Jabal al-Zawiyah region in northern Hama. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, three civilians were killed and six were wounded by the shelling.


Unknown gunmen killed one and wounded one individual in the village of Al-Yadoudah, northwest of Daraa city.


Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Tukli area of Khwaja Namoosi district.

Logar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Baraki Barak district.

Ghor Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran two Afghan National Security Forces’ posts near Tulak district. Separately, according to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News, 40 elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the group in Tahab area of Tulak district.


CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
