Syrian War Daily – 15th of June 2019

Hello and welcome to the 821st installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Al-Hasakah:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device wounded two elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces’ Asayîş (Security) in the city of Al-Hasakah.

Idlib:

Syrian Arab Air Force conducted air raids over Al-Bara, Maarat al-Numaan, Al-Fatira, Hayish, Tarmala, Al-Naqir, and several other localities. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), at least three civilians were killed and more than 13 were wounded by the air raids.

Hama:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front) repelled a Syrian Arab Army’s attempt to capture Tell Malah and Al-Jubain. Two elements of the Syrian Arab Army were captured in the failed attack.

Daraa:

Unknown gunmen kidnapped three elements of the Syrian Arab Army in the city of Al-Sanamayn.

Afghanistan

Herat Province:

15 elements of the Afghan Local Police, including commanders Arbab Tahria and Arbab Star, surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Tailak and Choshar areas of Farsi district.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three and wounded four elements of the Afghan National Police in Sheikh Abad area of Farah district.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 11 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Joy district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 15 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Sangin and Musa Qala districts.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
