Syrian War Daily – 24th of May 2019

Hello and welcome to the 799th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:


Syrian Arab Air Force conducted air raids over Kafr Nabl, Musibin, Kansafra, Taftanaz, Kafr Sajna, and Khan Sheikhun. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), at least four civilians were killed and more than a dozen were wounded by the air raids.


Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front) reportedly destroyed a Syrian Arab Army’s tank with an anti-tank guided missile on Tell Hwaish front.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran an Afghan National Security Forces’ post in Sozma Kala district. Seven elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were reportedly killed in the encounter.

Kabul Province:

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded 16 individuals at Isteghfar mosque in Kabul city.

Urozgan Province:

Seven elements of the Afghan National Security Forces surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan near Angar checkpoint in the vicinity of Khas Urozgan administration center.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 11 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Kajaki district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed three elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Zarhi Qarargah area of Shah Wali Kot district.


CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
