Syrian War Daily – 28th of April 2019

Hello and welcome to the 773rd installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Raqqa:

Several gas cylinders exploded in Al-Sanea district of Raqqa city, reportedly killing eight and wounding four civilians.

Al-Hasakah:

Unknown gunmen killed an individual on a road near the village of Al-Hadidiyah in southern Al-Hasakah.

Hama:

Russian Air Force conducted five air raids over the city of Qalaat al-Madiq in northwestern Hama. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), five civilians were killed and five were wounded by the air raids.

Rebel factions shelled Al-Khandaq village in Al-Ghab Plain region in northwestern Hama. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, one civilian was killed and three were wounded by the shelling.

Afghanistan

Afghan Ministry of Defense didn’t release any reports regarding Afghan National Security Forces’ operations across the country.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran an Afghan National Security Forces’ post in Ab Kamari district. Five elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and seven were wounded in the encounter.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Security Forces’ checkpoint in Shamulzayi district. Nine elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were reportedly killed in the encounter.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
