Syrian War Daily – 18th of April 2019

Hello and welcome to the 763rd installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:


Improvised explosive device wounded two civilians on a road near the village of Al-Adnaniyah. Separately, a left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed one and wounded one civilian in Al-Taminat district of Raqqa city.


Syrian Arab Army’s artillery shelled the villages of Umm Jalal and Umm Tuwaina in southern Idlib. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), seven civilians were killed and at least five were wounded by the shelling.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham executed an individual on charges of cooperating with the Syrian government in the village of Al-Habit. The executed individual was reportedly a head of a reconciliation committee with the Syrian government.

Deir al-Zour:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device wounded a civilian in Al-Sousa in eastern Deir al-Zour.


Afghan Ministry of Defense didn’t release any reports regarding Afghan National Security Forces’ operations across the country.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) killed two and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Security Forces, as well as destroyed an armored personnel carrier in Kala Gaz area of Jerashk district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Ordu Balagh area of Shah Wali Kot district.


CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
