Syrian War Daily – 8th of March 2019

Hello and welcome to the 722nd installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Hama:

Turkish Armed Forces started military patrols in the demilitarized zone around greater Idlib region. The patrols were accompanied by Faylaq al-Sham, during their time in southern Idlib and northern Hama governorates.

Afghanistan

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Mazidano area of Muqur district. Three elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and four were wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a PK machine gun and a DShK heavy machine gun from the checkpoint.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nad Ali district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed three elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Majid Chawk and Mobile Khada areas of Sangin district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
