Hello and welcome to the 691st installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded two civilians in Al-Awasi near Bazaa (Bizaah) in northern Aleppo.

Raqqa:

Improvised explosive device wounded an element of the Syrian Democratic Forces on the road towards Jib Shair farm.

Idlib:

Unknown gunmen kidnapped the former head of Tell Mannas’ local council, Fadel Burhan Omar on the road between Tell Mannas and Jarjanaz. In response to the kidnapping, the local council of Tell Mannas announced complete suspension of its work until Omar is released.

Hama:

Syrian Arab Army’s artillery shelled Kafr Nabudah and Al-Janahera in northern Hama, as well as Jarjanaz, Al-Khuwayn, Sukayk, Al-Rafa, and Al-Faraja in southern Idlib. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), four civilians were wounded by the shelling of Kafr Nabudah.

Daraa:

Improvised explosive device targeted a Syrian Arab Army’s checkpoint between the cities of Nimr and Al-Hara. Reports claimed that three elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed and five wounded by the explosion.

Libya

Derna:

Libyan Red Crescent Society recovered four unidentified bodies from the Old City area in Derna city.

Unknown gunmen killed a civilian in Bab Tobruq area of Derna city.

Al-Jafra:

Al-Jafra Security Directorate stated that its forces arrested three elements from Chad, who were conducting roberriers on the road between Wadan and Zalah near Al-Jafra. However, the fourth element managed to escape from the security forces.

Murzuq:

Libyan National Army conducted anti-terrorist operations in the vicinity of Murzuq city, reportedly capturing several elements of the Chadian opposition. However, according to reports, two individuals were killed and three wounded, as a result of clashes between the two sides at the outskirts of Murzuq.

3rd Infantry Division belonging to the Libyan National Army’s 141st Infantry Battalion reportedly took control of the road between Taraghin and Bin Dalif, cutting several supply routes to militias in the region.

Afghanistan

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (Taliban) Al-Emarah News launched a large attack against the Afghan National Security Forces in Kunduz district. According to Al-Emarah, the group seized three posts, reportedly killing 30 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in the process.

Samangan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Dara Suf district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and defused three improvised explosive devices in Qarabagh district.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed four motorcycles and seized several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Maywand district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices destroyed two Afghan National Army’s vehicles in Joy Lahore area of Arghandab district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Nesh district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
