Hello and welcome to the 673rd installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

‘Afrin Liberation Forces’ (Hêzên Rizgariya Efrînê) released a new statement claiming that at least five elements of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army and two elements of the Turkish Armed Forces were wounded in an operation in Afrin region.

Unknown gunmen killed an element of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham near the city of Darat Izza in western Aleppo.

Raqqa:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device wounded two civilians in the village of Al-Ruwiyan in northern Raqqa.

Idlib:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeted one of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s headquarters at the southern entrance to Idlib city. The explosion reportedly targeted Al-Mutlaq checkpoint, which is on the road between Idlib and Ariha. According to reports, ten elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham were killed and nine wounded in the explosion.

Unknown gunmen wounded three elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham on a road near the city of Sarmada in northern Idlib.

Unknown gunmen attempted to assassinate a commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh al-Izza, Abu Omar Tau (Tow) with an improvised explosive device planted in his vehicle in the city of Khan Sheikhoun. Abu Omar Tau was wounded by the explosion.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces’ Media Center released a report regarding today’s engagements with the Islamic State in the governorate;

Our fighters launched a massive attack on terrorists’ locations in Al-Susa town and its surrounding areas, heavy clashes took place, where many terrorists were killed as result, however, our forces went forward and controlled many new points, this was coincided with the international coalition airstrike on terrorists’ locations.

Meanwhile, Our fighters went forward 1.5 KM and controlled 32 new points in other front-line of this axis, after a massive attack at the noon hours, this led to heavy clashes with terrorists’ members, many of them were wounded and killed, some of their bodies fell at the hand of our fighters, where they seized a big number of weapons and ammo as well.

However, our fighters took advanced steps and could control 7 new points, after clashes with terrorists’ members, many terrorists were killed, and seized one trex.

On other front-line of the same axis, the terrorist organization tried to exploit the weather conditions to launch opposite attack on the liberated points, where the area witnessed sand storm and terrorist members raid at this time, however, our forces resisted them and failed all their raids, many terrorists were wounded, while some of our fighters were wounded in a different degree during the clashes.

However, our fighters launched another attack in other front-line of this axis, heavy clashes took place as a result where many terrorists were killed and wounded, moreover, 4 explosive motorbikes were bombed, in addition to seizing a number of weapons.

Moreover, clashes occurred in other side of this axis, where they could control new points, after many terrorists were killed.

however, the international coalition launched massive raid on the terrorists locations, big lose were caused but we couldn’t know accurately the degree of loses.

The engineering military team urgently swept the region and demined the planted mines by the terrorists.

The terrorist’s location re-attacked opposite raid against our forces, but our forces failed the attack after killing many terrorists, while the rest escaped.

During the clashes, some of our fighters were martyred and others were wounded , then they were transferred to hospitals to receive treatment.

The separate clashes have been continuing in all the front-lines of this axis until the date of preparing this outcome report.

Unknown gunmen assassinated the mayor of Al-Masifrah, Abd al-Ilah al-Zuabi in front of his house.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Gurziwan district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ convoy in Bazar Qala, Tup Khana Qala, and Torta areas of Dawlat Abad district, as the convoy was on its way towards Balkh province. According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, 15 armored vehicles were destroyed, as well as ten elements of the Afghan National Security Forces killed and nine wounded in the attack.

Kabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed and wounded three elements of the Afghan National Police at a checkpoint in Makroyano area of Kabul city.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 34, wounded one, and arrested two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized a vehicle and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Bihsud, Hisarak, Lal Pur, and Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three, wounded six, and arrested two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khogyani district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tarinkot district.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Wali Kot district.

CJTF-OIR:
