Syrian War Daily – 7th of December 2018

Hello and welcome to the 631st installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) Media Center claimed that three elements of the Turkish Armed Forces and two elements of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army were killed in three operations conducted by the group in Afrin region. Full statement by the Media Center;

Within the scope of the second phase of the Resistance of the Age in occupied Afrin, our forces continue to carry out operations targeting Turkish-backed mercenaries.

1. On December 5th, one of our units carried out an operation in the area between Afrin’s Sherawa and Shara districts, targeting a military base of the Turkish invasion army. Clashes broke out between our forces and Turkish soldiers. As a result, three Turkish soldiers were killed.

During the clashes and while staging incomparable resistance, one of our comrades was martyred. The name of our martyred comrade will be released to the public at a later time.

2. On December 6th, our unit carried out an operation, targeting the terrorists of the Sultan Murad Division in Afrin’s Rajo district. As a result, one of the mercenaries was killed and another one was wounded.

3. Regarding the operation from December 2nd, when our forces have targeted the Ahrar al-Sham headquarters located in the center of Jinderese town and which resulted in killing six terrorists and heavily wounding eight others, it was clarified that one more mercenary that had been wounded died of his wounds later.

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device wounded four civilians in the village of Tarhin in eastern Aleppo.

Idlib:

Improvised explosive device wounded two civilian near Al-Quds hospital in the city of Al-Dana in northern Idlib.

Hama:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham vacated its offices at Morek crossing in northern Hama and transferred its contents to the group’s offices in the city of Kafr ZIta. Morek – Souran crossing in northern Hama was closed due to unknown reasons by the Syrian Arab Army on the 16th of November.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Arab News Agency released a statement accusing the CJTF-OIR of killing eight civilians during air raids over the city of Hajin in eastern Deir al-Zour. Full statement by the Syrian Arab News Agency;

The warplanes of the US-led “international coalition” have bombarded Hajin City, about 110 km southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, claiming the lives of eight civilians and causing big damage to houses .

Civil sources told SANA that warplanes of the US-led “international coalition” attacked several residential houses in Hajin city on Friday morning, claiming the lives of eight civilians from one family and injuring other people .

The sources mentioned that three women and two children were among the martyrs.

The strikes destroyed dozens of houses and displaced hundreds of families who fled their homes as a result of the coalition’s continued random bombing.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 14 and wounded 17 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Andkhoy and Qaysar districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Ghazni district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed a National Directorate of Security’s vehicle, killing two and wounding two elements in the city of Ghazni.

Paktika Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle, killing two and wounding two soldiers in Khoshamand district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 16 and wounded 13 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khaki Safed and Pur Chaman districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group overran Gurd Khwla Killi area in Pur Chaman district. According to Al-Emarah, six elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed, four wounded, and one arrested in the encounter.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nahri Saraj and Garmsir districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed three elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Shor Shorak and Sarkhaduz areas of Nawa-I-Barakzayi district.
