Syrian War Daily – 3rd of December 2018

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) Media Center claimed that 11 elements of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army were killed in two operations conducted by the group in Afrin region. Full statement by the Media Center;

Within the scope of the second phase of the Resistance of the Age in occupied Afrin, our forces carried out two separate military operations targeting the Turkish-backed mercenaries in the Dermishmishe village, near to Afrin city, and in the center of Jinderese town. Details of these operations are as follows:

1.On December 2nd, one of our units carried out an action against a patrol of the so-called “Army of Islam” (Jaysh al-Islam) mercenary faction in the Dermishmishe village located near to Afrin city. As a result, five of the terrorists were killed and three others were wounded, while the vehicle itself was destroyed.

2.On the same day, our unit carried out a sabotage action in the center of Jinderese town, targeting a military vehicle stationed at the headquarters of the “Ahrar al-Sham” mercenary faction. As a result, six of the terrorists were killed and eight others were wounded, most of them seriously, while the vehicle itself was destroyed.

As a result of the both actions, 11 terrorist were killed and 11 others were wounded, while 2 military vehicles were completely destroyed.

Idlib:

Unknown gunmen wounded five civilians with a grenade in the village of Kafr Amim in eastern Idlib.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces launched an attack on the Islamic State-held city of Hajin in eastern Deir al-Zour. According to reports, Syrian Democratic Force reached the outskirts of Hajin and advanced in the northwestern part of the city, while clashes still continue.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran three Afghan National Security Forces’ military bases and eight posts in Qarghan and Andhkoy districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that 11 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed in the encounter, while the group seized a vehicle, a PK machine gun, and four assault rifles.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic State in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 23 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a vehicle and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Jaghuri and Andar districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed two vehicles in Anar Dara and Pusht Rod districts.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 10 and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Shah Joy district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 65 and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Sangin, Garmsir, Marjah, and Nawzad districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Police’s post in Khoshak Abi area of Lashkar Gah district. Seven elements of the Afghan National Police were killed and three wounded in the encounter. Two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were als wounded in the same encounter.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed and wounded four elements of the Afghan National Army in Chinar area of Shah Wali Kot district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
