Syrian War Daily – 26th of November 2018

Hello and welcome to the 620th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Free Syrian Army’s Firqat al-Hamza (Hamza Division) on a road near Jabal al-Basouta south of Afrin city. The explosion wounded three elements of Firqat al-Hamza, including a commander. One of the wounded individuals was reportedly transferred to a hospital in Turkey.

Idlib:

Unknown explosion wounded a civilian in the village of Al-Jalala.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Arab News Agency released a statement accusing the CJTF-OIR of killing and wounding dozens of civilians during air raids over the village of Abu al-Hasan in eastern Deir al-Zour. Full statement by the Syrian Arab News Agency;

Tens of civilians were martyred or injured after the US-led international coalition’s warplanes launched new airstrikes on Abu al-Hasan village in southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor under the pretext of fighting Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization .

Local sources told SANA’s reporter that the coalition on Monday targeted the locals’ houses in Abu al-Hasan village near Hajin city, killing and injuring tens of the civilians, most of them women and children.

The number of deaths is expected to rise due to the critical condition of many of the injured, in addition to there being several missing people trapped under rubble, as it is difficult to rescue them due to the continuing airstrikes by the coalition, the sources said.

The airstrikes also destroyed many houses and much of the infrastructure in the village.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran an Afghan National Army’s post in Qaysar district. Eight elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and three wounded in the encounter.

Eight elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chaghatak area of Almar district.

Balkh Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chahar Bolak district.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight elements of the Islamic State in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) and Achin districts.

Herat Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Rabat Sangi district.

Paktika Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Gomal district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed nine and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three hideouts in Khas Urozgan and Tarinkot districts.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed an Afghan National Army’s convoy in Mizan district. Three elements of the Afghan National Army were killed in the ambush.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Marjah district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Army’s convoy in Ordo Balagh area of Shah Wali Kot district. According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News, 26 elements of the Afghan National Army were killed, as well as an armored vehicle and six Kamaz trucks destroyed in the attack.
