Syrian War Daily – 14th of November 2018

Hello and welcome to the 608th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device wounded a civilian near the village of Jazraya in southern Aleppo.

Raqqa:

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded one civilian in Al-Haramiyah neighborhood of Raqqa city.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces’ Media Center released a report regarding today’s encounters with the Islamic State in the governorate;

Hajian axis: Our forces attacked several sites of the terrorists in this axis, and violent clashes broke out between our fighters and the terrorists, in which dozens of terrorists were killed and others were wounded, the bodies of some of them were kept at the fighters’ hands. Our fighters also seized quantities of weapons and ammunition and detonated dozens of mines that had been planted by the terrorists in the area, as well as the destruction of tunnels.

The International Air Force carried out several air strikes targeting the terrorists’ sites and fortifications, killing several of them, as well as destroying several hideouts where the terrorists used to hide in.

This axis has still witnessing intermittent clashes until the moment of preparing this report.

2 – The outcome of the clashes:

The terrorists’ losses: Destroying tunnels (2), destroying mines factories (2), destroying terrorists’ sites (15), destroying weapons storehouse (4), destroying a mine field, destroying sites where foreign terrorists were holed up (2), destroying an operations room, destroying weapons stores (9), destroying a rocket launcher, destroying a command center.

– Number of strikes by the International Alliance: /38 / strikes.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 24 and wounded 19 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qaysar district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Badakhshan Province:

Three elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with their weapons in Raghistan district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an Afghan National Army’s post in Saydabad district, reportedly killing nine soldiers in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized five assault rifles, four PK machine guns, and a DShK heavy machine gun from the post.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qarabagh and Malestan districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle, killing two and wounding three soldiers in Ghazni district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded 17 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Farah district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Security Forces’ positions in Shewan, Garani, and Ganj Abad areas of Bala Buluk district and overran one checkpoint. Six elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and four captured in the encounters.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 21 and wounded 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chora and Tarinkot districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Police’s military base and three checkpoints in Paie Nawa area of Tarinkot district. According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News, 31 elements of the Afghan National Police were killed in the encounters.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran two Afghan National Army’s checkpoints in Seadullah Khan Ghundi area of Mizan district. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were reportedly killed in the encounters.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
