Hello and welcome to the 580th installment of the SWD.

Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:

Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device wounded three civilians on a road in Burj Haidar area of Jindires subdistrict in Afrin region.

Idlib:

Improvised explosive device killed one and wounded one civilian in the village of Maasran, south of Idlib. The explosion occurred as one of the civilians attempted to dismantle the improvised explosive device, which was attached to their vehicle.

Hama:

Syrian Arab Army’s snipers killed two and wounded two elements of Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front) near Qalaat al-Madiq in northern Hama. The snipers reportedly conducted the attack from the village of Al-Jaid.

Al-Suwayda:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that four elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in clashes near Tell al-Safa area in eastern Al-Suwayda.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) killed two and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Police, as well as destroyed an armored vehicle in an attack in Almar district.

Balkh Province:

Afghan National Security Forces wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chimtal district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah news stated that 13 elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and five wounded during clashes in Chimtal district.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Sayyad district.

Baghlan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran three Afghan National Army’s checkpoints in Pul-e Khomri district, reportedly killing eight and wounding two soldiers in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized four assault rifles, two PK machine guns, and an armored vehicle from the checkpoints.

Daykundi Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Kijran district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 18 and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two vehicles and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Ab Band and Qarabagh districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Paktika Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 20 elements of the Haqqani Network and destroyed three bases in Omna district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Pusht Rod district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed five and wounded eight elements of the Afghan National Police along the administrative border between Farah and Nimruz provinces.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Khas Urozgan district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 17 and arrested five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed five motorcycles and 50 kilograms (110 pounds) of opium in Jerashk and Sangin districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed six elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Nad Ali and Nawa-I-Barakzayi districts.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Shah Ghondan Baba Ghar area of Khakrez district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
