Raqqa:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed one and wounded one civilian in Al-Badu neighborhood of Raqqa city.

Idlib:

Unknown gunmen opened fire on a civilian bus at the northern entrance to the city of Jisr al-Shughur, as the bus was on its way to transport the civilians to the Turkish border. Five civilians were wounded in the incident.

Unknown gunmen threw an improvised explosive device at an outpost of the Syrian Salvation Government’s police in the city of Kafr Takharim. According to the reports, three policemen were wounded by the explosion.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces announced the last phase of ‘Al-Jazeera Storm Campaign’ against the Islamic State in eastern Deir al-Zour. Syrian Democratic Forces released a statement regarding the announcement;

One year has passed since our forces began to declare the campaign of the island storm to liberate the villages of Deir al-Zour and Hasakah.

where hundreds of villages and hundreds of thousands of civilians have been liberated from the hands of Daesh and the liberation of vast areas of these two provinces,

in coordination between our forces and the International coalition through aerial and artillery support, leaving only “Hajin” area and its countryside, which is still under the control of the terrorist organization.

Our forces launched on Monday (10 September, 2018) and since the evening hours, the last phase of its victorious campaigns and its last battle east of the Euphrates as (a battle to defeat terrorism) and from four axes,

aiming to eliminate Daesh in the last strongholds and liberate the villages and towns of ” “Hijin, Sousa and al-shafa “with its villages and farms, and on a geographical area ranging from (35 km) tall and (10 km) width, as a culmination of the results of our previous campaigns in Al-Jazeera storm.

In the final phase of the campaign, brigades from the Deir al-Zour military council, with the support of units and formations of the border guards, and the active participation of the special forces’ battalions of YPG and YPJ, will be actively supported by the coalition’s international reconnaissance, The International Coalition artillery in coordination with the Iraqi army provide artillery support to our forces by bombing the fixed targets of the terrorists.

We in SDF, while reaffirming our determination to move forward to end terrorism in the east of the Euphrates, will spare no effort to do everything we can with regard to our humanitarian obligations. Our forces have provided a humanitarian crossing to evacuate civilians along of Bahra town. Our specialized teams have equipped an emergency shelter camp to provide logistical and medical services to the displaced. Similarly, our forces will take positive action.

Islamic State repelled today’s attacks by the Syrian Democratic Forces on Al-Soussa and Al-Baghouz areas in eastern Deir al-Zour. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency released a video showing five killed and one captured element of the Syrian Democratic Forces during today’s clashes.

Al-Suwayda:

Syrian Arab Army and allies made advances against the Islamic State in Al-Jarf al-Sakhri area near Tell al-Safa. Syrian Arab News Agency released a report regarding the event;

SANA reporter in Sweida said that army units in coincidence with the air strikes and artillery bombardments continued advance in al-Jarf al-Sakhri area neighboring Toloul al-Safa amidst fierce clashes, killing or injuring scores of Daesh terrorists.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) reportedly killed seven elements of the Afghan National Army in Qarah Bagh area of Shirin Tagab district.

Jowzjan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an Afghan Local Police’s post in Khamab district, reportedly killing ten and wounding two policemen in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized four vehicles from the post. Separately, eight elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khamab district.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 11 and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two vehicles and two motorcycles in Sar-e Pol district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News claimed that the group overran Balaghli, Baghawi, Qashqri, Gula Kul, Dawlat Zay, Eigi Zak, Koti Ara, and Chashma Shafa areas from the Afghan National Security Forces.

Baghlan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 52 and wounded 35 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Pul-e Khumri district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Nangarhar Province:

Suicide attack targeted a protest in Momand Dara district, as the protesters closed down the Torkham – Jalalabad highway. According to the spokesman for the governor of Nangharhar, at least 20 individuals were killed and 55 wounded in the explosion. The protestors were demonstrating against the reported abuses of the Afghan Local Police’s commander, Bilal Paja.

Afghan Local Police’s element surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with his weapon and four hand grenades in Surkh Rod district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 42 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Day Mirdad (Jalga) district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group took control of Jalga district and all of its installations, centers, and checkpoints from the Afghan National Security Forces. Al-Emarah claimed that 70 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces, including two commanders were killed in the clashes for the district’s administration center. Four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and six wounded in the clashes. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly seized five armored vehicles, two military vehicles, two ammunition trucks, an anti-aircraft heavy machine gun, an anti-tank heavy machine gun, three mortars, 50 PK machine guns, and 15 assault rifles from the captured installations.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Ahmad Khel district.

15 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jani Khel district.

Badghis Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 15 and wounded 21 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Murghab (Bala Murghab) district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces reportedly killed 30 elements of the Haqqani Network in Nawa district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Separately, Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Waghaz district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shib Koh district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Nawi Pul area of Farah district. Three elements of the Afghan National Police were wounded and one arrested in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two PK machine guns, an RPG launcher, and five assault rifles from the checkpoint.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tarinkot district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 24 and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed an improvised explosive devices factory and two bases in Nad Ali, Marjah, Sangin, and Garmsir districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Seydan area of Jerashk district. Eight elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and an armored personnel carrier destroyed in the encounter.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nesh district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
