Al-Hasakah:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device wounded two civilians near Al-Swaqa school in the vicinity of Al-Banorama roundabout in the city of Al-Hasakah.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham conducted security operations in Maarat Misrin, Azmarin, Harem, and Salqin, targeting individuals who promote reconciliation with the Syrian government. According to the reports, 19 individuals were arrested in Maarat Misrin and ten in Azmarin.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham arrested a prominent former element of the Free Syrian Army, Mustafa al-Khalil in the village of Kafr Aweid in Jabal al-Zawiya region, southern Idlib. Al-Khalil was arrested on unknown charges and taken to an unknown location.

Unknown gunmen threw a grenade at a group of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s elements near the village of Khan al-Sabil. Two elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham were wounded in the incident.

Al-Suwayda:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed five and wounded one civilian near Al-Husn area east of Tarba village in eastern Al-Suwayda.

Afghanistan

Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani announced a temporary ceasefire with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. However, Ghani stated that the ceasefire will only take place if the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan agrees and commits to the ceasefire.

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (Taliban) Al-Emarah News stated that the group captured Bilchiragh district’s administration center, nearby Afghan National Police’s headquarters and surrounding checkpoints, after Afghan National Security Forces present in the aforementioned areas surrendered. Faryab Provincial Council confirmed Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s takeover of Bilchiragh district, also adding that more than 40 elements surrendered to the group.

Balkh Province:

15 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with their weapons in Shortepa district. Similarly, five elements of the Afghan National Security Forces surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chahar Bolak district.

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an Afghan National Army’s post in Qalay-I-Zal district. Three elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and four wounded, while two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were wounded in the encounter.

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 22 and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two vehicles and defused 21 improvised explosive devices in Khwaja Ghar district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Nangarhar Province:

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 18 and wounded 14 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jani Khel and Chamkani districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed seven and wounded five elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Chamkani district.

Herat Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shindand district.

Paktika Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Army’s post in Wazi Khwa district, reportedly killing four and wounding three elements in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized four assault rifles and two PK machine guns from the post.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tarinkot district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nad Ali, Kajaki, and Nawa-I-Barakzayi districts.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
