Aleppo:

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) ‘Wrath of Olives Operation Room’ executed an element of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army’s Firqat al-Sultan Murad (Sultan Murad Division) in Kolia village, Afrin region. Full Statement by the ‘Wrath of Olives Operation Room’;

Our units in Wrath of Olives’ Operation Room carried out on 13-8-2018 a special operation against one of the mercenaries of al-Sultan Murad in Kolia village in Afrin, where our units killed him because he participated in the occupation of Afrin from the beginning and also looted and robbed the unarmed citizens and the practice of all forms of torture against our people in Afrin and we have warned all the factions that they will be targeted by our units on all the land of Afrin and everyone would witness that our words will be translated into acts against the mercenaries.

Idlib:

Unknown gunmen killed an element of Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front) near the village of Habit, south of Idlib.

Al-Suwayda:

Syrian Arab Army and allies captured Umm Mardakh area northwest of Tell al-Safa from the Islamic State. Syrian Arab News Agency released a report regarding the event;

SANA’s war correspondent in Sweida said on Tuesday that army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, are closing in on terrorists in al-Safa hills area after establishing control over Oum Mardakh area northwest of the hills, targeting the terrorists’ fortified positions and movements and preventing any attempt to break through the perimeter established around them.

The correspondent said that an army unit destroyed two 4WD pickup trucks equipped with heavy machineguns used by terrorists southwest of the hills.

Another unit clashed with a group of Daesh terrorists that attempted to break through and attack military positions south of the hills near al-Rahba village, resulting in foiling the attack, leaving 5 terrorists dead, apprehending a terrorist, and destroying their weapons and ammo, while the remaining terrorists fled through the rough terrain towards their hideouts in the hills.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Ghormach district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran a large Afghan National Security Forces’ military base, after three days of clashes and siege. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that 43 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and 17 wounded during the clashes, while the remaining 57 elements reportedly surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khwaja Ghar district.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s post in Saydabad district, reportedly killing three and wounding three elements in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an RPG launcher and a DShK heavy machine gun from the post.

Kabul Province:

Afghan National Army’s element surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Paghman district.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly killed 16 and wounded 27 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Ghani Khel and Bati Kot districts, according to Al-Emarah News. Two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and two wounded in the encounters.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Afghan National Security Forces continued clashing across the city of Ghazni, without either side making any significant advances in the city.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Joy district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked three and overran one Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Qalat district. Nine elements of the Afghan National Army were reportedly killed in the encounters.

Helmand Province:

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Arowgh area of Khakrez district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
