Aleppo:

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) ‘Wrath of Olives Operation Room’ killed a member of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army’s Firqat al-Sultan Murad (Sultan Murad Division) in an operation conducted by the group in Ziyadia village near Akhtarin in northern Aleppo. Full Statement by the ‘Wrath of Olives Operation Room’;

Our units in Wrath of Olives’ operation room carried out on 8/5/2018 a special operation in ​​Akhtarin of Azaz, specifically in Ziyadia village, in response to the violations of mercenaries against our unarmed people in Afrin from looting and theft of property and considering that the mercenaries of Sultan Murad were the ones who entrenched the Turkish presence in north of Syria, our units monitored the movements of one of the mercenaries of Sultan Murad in order to receive the punishment of what their dirty hands committed against our people in Afrin.

Idlib:

Syrian Arab Army’s artillery and the Syrian Arab Air Force targeted Saraqib, Tell Maridikh, Al-Tamaneh, Bidama, Khan Sheikhoun, Tell Aas, and Al-Tah. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), six civilians were killed and more than 30 wounded by the targeting of the aforementioned localities.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham raided Islamic State’s headquarters in Al-Nayrab village, east of Idlib. Reports suggest that six elements of the Islamic State were arrested in the raid.

Daraa:

Left over rebel arms depot exploded in the city of Mahajjah, as the Syrian Arab Army’s elements were attempting to dismantle improvised explosive devices at the depot. Reports claimed that up to 15 elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed and wounded in the incident, while pro-government sources reported killing of Colonel Raouf Hamoud Areej, as well as eight other elements.

Al-Suwayda:

Syrian Arab Army and allies made advances against the Islamic State towards Sad al-Zalf, Toluol al-Dab’a, Al-Dabia, Alam, Al-Safa and Arad al-Keraa in eastern Al-Suwayda. Syrian Arab News Agency released a report regarding the event;

Units of Syrian Arab Army continued advancing to cleanse Sweida Badia (Desert) from Daesh (ISIS) terrorists.

SANA’s reporter in Sweida said that army units, backed by supporting forces, advanced in the direction of Sad al-Zalf, Toluol al-Dab’a, al-Dabia, Alam, al-Safa and Arad al-Keraa, establishing control over new areas in the depth of 40 km in the eastern countryside of Sweida which led to enhancing the security in the area.

The reporter added that army units eliminated a terrorist group in Arad al-Keraa and chased their remnants as heavy clashes erupted in the direction of Toluol al-Safa which is one of Daesh main sites in the area.

In parallel with the clashes, the army’s artillery and Air Force launched strikes on Daesh positions in the area, killing many of them and destroying their vehicles and equipment.

Meanwhile, the army’s engineering units continued combing the recently liberated areas and dismantled a booby-trapped BMP vehicle and hundreds of IEDs and mines in addition to the destruction of a car bomb left by terrorists in Arad al-Keraa.

Later, an army unit destroyed a den for Daesh in Beir Hasan area to the east of Khirbet al-Ambashi, killing 13 of its terrorists and injuring dozens.

Afghanistan

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic State killed three and wounded several elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Sabri area of Khogyani district.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 23 and wounded 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jaji Arioub district.

Badghis Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Muqur district.

Four elements of the Afghan National Security Forces surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with their weapons in Kocha area of Ab Kamari district.

Herat Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s post in Doaow area of Obe district. Eight elements of the Afghan National Army were killed in the encounter, while the remaining elements withdrew from the post. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a PK machine gun, an RPG launcher, and seven assault rifles from the post.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Deh Yak, Andar, Ajristan, and Giro districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan launched a large attack against the Afghan National Security Forces on the city of Ghazni, capital of the province. According to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, clashes between the two still continue in the 4th District of Ghazni city. The ministry also claimed that around 150 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed in the clashes.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed Afghan National Army’s commander Dawod and an element of the army, as well as wounded another element in Pusht Koh district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces seized eight vehicles, four motorcycles, 50 kilograms (110 pounds) of explosive materials, and several weapons depots and ammunition caches from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tarinkot district.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 13 and wounded 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Joy district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ convoy in Musazo area of Shah Joy district, killing three and wounding four elements, as well as destroying an armored personnel carrier.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nahri Saraj district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ center in Zarghon Killi area of Nad Ali district, reportedly killing and wounding 22 elements, as well as destroying an armored personnel carrier.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed nine and wounded 15 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Arghistan district.
