Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device wounded two civilians on a road near the village of Sheikh Ali in eastern Aleppo.

Idlib:

Five rebel factions announced merger into Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (National Liberation Front), under the umbrella of the Free Syrian Army. The newly-formed group consists of; Jabhat Tahrir Suriya, Al-Wiyat Suqour al-Sham, Jaysh al-Ahrar, Tajammu Dimashq, and Al-Jabhat al-Wataniya lil-Tahrir (Formed in May of 2018 by Faylaq al-Sham (Sham Legion), Free Idlib Army, 1st Coastal Division, 2nd Coastal Division, 1st Infantry Division, Al-Jaysh al-Thani (2nd Army), Jaysh al-Nasr (Army of Victory), Jaysh al-Nukhba (Elite Army), Shuhada al-Islam Darayya, Al-Firqat 23, and Liwa al-Huriya). According to the reports, leader of the new group is Faylaq al-Sham’s general commander Fadlullah al-Haji, while Suqour al-Sham’s Mustafa Sarhan and Jaysh al-Ahrar’s Walid al-Hashim are his deputies. Ahrar al-Sham’s Captain Anad Al-Darwish was appointed as the group’s Chief of Staff and Major Mohammed al-Mansour as his deputy.

Unknown gunmen killed two elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham on a road in Hazano village. Similarly, an element of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and a civilian were killed by unknown gunmen near the village of Jabala. Unknown gunmen killed one and wounded one civilian in the village of Juzef, south of Idlib.

Improvised explosive device wounded two civilians near the city of Sarmin on the road between Idlib and Saraqib.

Damascus:

Islamic State ambushed a group of Syrian Arab Army’s elements between Tell Dakwa and Al-Dumayr in eastern Damascus. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that three elements of the Syrian Arab Army, including a general were killed in the ambush. Syrian Arab Army’s Major General Nadim Asaad was announced as killed in the ambush.

Daraa:

Syrian Republican Guard discovered a mass grave near the air defense base west of Dael, containing remains of Syrian Arab Army’s elements killed in Dael in March of 2013. According to the reports, 51 bodies were recovered from the mass grave.

Al-Suwayda:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency claimed that around 45 elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in a group’s attack on Khalkha Military Airport in northern Al-Suwayda.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) killed two and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Police in Almar district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle in Arbakhana area of Maymana district.

Afghan Local Police’s commander, Muhammadullah (Abdul Karim) surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Taymist area of Qaysar district.

Jowzjan Province:

Islamic State’s leader in Derzab district, Mawlavi Habib al-Rahman, and his deputy Mufti Nematullah, as well as around 150 elements of the group surrendered to the Afghan National Security Forces in Derzab district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News officially stated that the Islamic State was defeated in Jowzjan Province, as a result of a large offensive. According to Al-Emarah News, 153 Islamic State’s elements were killed, more than 100 wounded, and 134 arrested, while 17 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and 13 wounded in the offensive. Al-Emarah News stated that last night the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured Sardara and Qara Maghul areas in Derzab district from the Islamic State, forcing the latter to surrendered to the Afghan National Security Forces.

Kunduz Province:

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed an element of the Islamic State in Wata Pur district.

Laghman Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four, wounded five, and arrested three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Alingar district. One of the four killed elements was an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commander known as Salim.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency officially claimed responsibility for the yesterday’s attack on Nangarhar’s Department of Immigration Affairs in the city of Jalalabad.

Logar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three motorcycles and three improvised explosive devices in Mohammad Agha district.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Ghormach and Murghab district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Bala Buluk district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as found and defused ten improvised explosive devices in Sangin district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Khushal Killi area of Nad Ali district, reportedly killing five policemen in the process.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Nayazo Saraie area of Nesh district. Similarly, an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Zangitan area of Shah Wali Kot district.
