Aleppo:

Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) Media Center stated that three elements of the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army were killed in two operations conducted by the group in Afrin region. Full statement by the Media Center;

Our forces carried out a series of military operations targeting the military bases and headquarters of the Turkish army and its jihadi allies in Afrin.

1. On July 28 our units infiltrated to the area where the headquarters of Sultan Murad Brigade is located and carried out an operation against the mercenaries in Afrin’s Shara district. Two terrorists have been killed and one has been injured as result of the attack.

2. On the same day one of our units ambushed the commander of one of the battalions of Sham Corps in Jinderes, resulting in the elimination of the terrorist.

Idlib:

Unknown gunmen assassinated Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s commander, Abu Bakr al-Masri on the road between Idlib and Saraqib.

Improvised explosive device wounded three civilians on the road between Ariha and Hattan.

Daraa:

Syrian Arab Army, backed by reconciled Free Syrian Army’s factions and other militias captured Beit Arrah, Kuwayyah, and Al-Qusayr in Al-Yarmouk basin from the Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid. After this advance, the Syrian Arab Army is in complete control of both Al-Quneitra and Daraa governorates. Around 150 elements of Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid surrendered to the Syrian Arab Army and allies in Hayt, and 80 of them were transported to Tafas, where they will be transported to desertous areas in eastern Al-Suwayda, in exchange for captured civilians held by the Islamic State. However, reports surfaced about Free Syrian Army’s elements executing up to 50 elements of Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid who surrendered, while around 20 elements of the group, including one of its founders in Al-Yarmouk basin, Marwan Zein al-Abdeen are being held in Hayt for interrogation.

Afghanistan

Jowzjan Province:

25 elements of the Islamic State surrendered to the Afghan National Security Forces in Derzab district.

Badakhshan Province:

Ten elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) with their weapons in Tagab district.

Kabul Province:

Five elements of the ‘National Directorate of Security’ reportedly defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Paghman district.

Nangarhar Province:

Three unknown gunmen attacked Nangarhar’s Department of Immigration Affairs in the city of Jalalabad. One gunmen conducted a suicide attack in front of the department, while the other two gunmen stormed it. According to the reports, eight individuals were killed and 14 wounded in the attack, while all three gunmen were also killed.

Paktia Province:

13 elements of the Afghan National Police defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Ahmad Khel district. Similarly, two elements of the Afghan National Army surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Zazi district.

Badghis Province:

Seven elements of the Afghan National Security Forces surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jawand district.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ convoy in Ghazni district, reportedly killing nine soldiers.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle, killing four soldiers in Andar district.

Farah Province:

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Mayzani area of Qalat district. Separately, an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle, killing two and wounding two soldiers in Bazar area of Qalat district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured two elements of the Afghan National Army in Tazi area of Shah Joy district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized a motorcycle and defused nine improvised explosive devices in Nad Ali, Sangin, and Jerashk districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Sarkhadoz area of Nawa-I-Barakzayi district.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Karezak area of Maywand district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle, killing three and wounding five soldiers in Jalahore area of Arghandab district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now one strike report will be published each week on Mondays.
