Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched large-scale security operations against the Islamic State’s sleeper cells in the city of Sarmin and nearby localities. The group reportedly closed all of the roads leading to Sarmin and installed dozens of checkpoints, as well as imposed a curfew in the locality. The operations were also conducted in the village of Al-Naryab, with reports suggesting that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham already arrested several elements of the Islamic State with explosive belts and improvised explosive devices in the aforementioned localities.

Daraa:

Syrian Arab Army and allies made sizeable advances against the rebel factions northeast of Daraa city, capturing Maliha al-Gharbiyah, Maliha al-Sharqiyah, Rakhm, 52nd Brigade, and Alma. Reports also suggest that the Syrian Arab Army captured Al-Sourah and Al-Harak from the rebels.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 16 and wounded 11 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Khwaja Sahib Posh and Pashtun Kot districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Chilhazy district, killing five and wounding four soldiers in the process.

Jowzjan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces arrested two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized a vehicle and a motorcycle in Faizabad district.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khan Abad district.

Takhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan launched a large-scale operation against the Afghan National Security Forces in Yatim Tapa area of Chah Ab district. According to Al-Emarah News, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran four Afghan National Security Forces’ checkpoints, killing 16 elements in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized 12 assault rifles, two PK machine guns, and an RPG launcher from the checkpoints.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed an element of the Islamic State in Wata Pur district.

Kabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated Afghan National Army’s commander, Azizullah Karvan and his guard in Makoryano area of the city of Kabul.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan Local Police’s post in Mamli Bagh area of Khogyani district. One element of the Afghan Local Police was killed and seven wounded in the encounter.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded nine elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar district.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed three elements of the Afghan National Army in Nealak area of Bala Buluk district.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Naw Bahar district.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Police in Yakchal area of Nahri Saraj district.
