Aleppo:

Several rebel brigades announced the formation of ‘Firqat al-Sultan Abdul Hamid al-Thani’ under the umbrella of the Free Syrian Army. The newly formed faction is under the leadership of Omar Hilal and operates in northern Aleppo governorate, Ras al-Ayn in Al-Hasakah governorate, and in Jabal Turkman in Latakia governorate.

Several rebel elements announced the formation of Kataib al-Majd, under the umbrella of the Free Syrian Army. The newly formed faction is under the leadership of Ahmed Fattouh (Abu al-Majd), while Abdul Karim al-Jassim is the faction’s military commander. Kataib al-Majd was reportedly formed in order to recapture the city of Aleppo from the Syrian Arab Army and allies.

Free Syrian Army’s Ahrar al-Sharqiya separated itself from two of its sub-factions due to their disobedience of the General Command’s decisions. Ahrar al-Sharqiya separated itself from Liwa al-Muntasir led by Abu Malek al-Diri, and Katibat al-Hamza led by Abu Khawla.

Al-Hasakah:

Syrian Arab News Agency claimed that the CJTF-OIR‘s airstrikes over Tell al-Shayer killed 12 and wounded two civilians. CJTF-OIR‘s spokesman, Colonel Sean Ryan reportedly denied yesterday’s claims by the Syrian Arab News Agency about the CJTF-OIR‘s airstrikes over the village of Khuwaibirah, which allegedly killed 18 refugees from Iraq. According to Ryan, the CJTF-OIR did not detect any injury or death of civilians as a result of the coalition strikes in Al-Hasakah.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 13 and wounded 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Shirin Tagab district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ convoy in Tash Kala and Shish Taipa areas of Shirin Tagab district, reportedly killing six and wounding seven elements, as well as destroyed three armored vehicles.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group overran the Kohistan (Lawlash) district’s administration center, the Afghan National Police’s headquarters in the district and nearby checkpoints. Faryab Provincial Council’s chairman, Taher Rahmani also stated that Kohistan’s administration center was captured by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Balkh Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and arrested nine elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chimtal district.

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized five Afghan National Police’s posts in Qalay-I-Zal district, killing 18 and wounding a dozen of policemen, according to the group’s Al-Emarah News.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and arrested one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Sayyad district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group overran an Afghan National Security Forces’ military base and eight checkpoints in Qaflaton Azbakia, Qaflaton Alqani and Boland Ghor areas of Sayyad district. According to Al-Emarah News, 12 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and four arrested in the encounters.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 18 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khogyani district, according to the Afghan MInistry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Afghan Local Police, killing two elements of the local police.

Logar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed five elements of the Afghan National Army in Charkh district.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Warmami district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 60 and wounded 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed seven vehicles and eight motorcycles in Ajristan, Muqur, Deh Yak, Andar, and Zana Khan districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group captured four Afghan National Security Forces’ posts in Qarabagh district, killing 24 and wounding 15 elements, as well as destroying three vehicles. Two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and three wounded in the encounters. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized seven assault rifles, two heavy machine guns, and three motorcycles from the captured posts.

Three elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Gelan district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the city of Farah.

Afghan National Army’s commander Malak and 60 other elements of the army defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Fasak Nawa area of Pur Chaman district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured the aforementioned area after the defections.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chora district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed an Afghan National Army’s convoy in Khanqa area of Chora district, destroying eight armored personnel carriers and a Kamaz truck.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Joy district.

Nimruz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed a vehicle in Khash Rod district.
