Aleppo:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham stormed the village of Abyan Samean in western Aleppo, and attempted to arrest an element of Jabhat Tahrir Suriya after raiding his house in the village. Following this, sporadic clashes occurred between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhat Tahrir Suriya in Abyan Samean. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham also temporarily established two checkpoints; near Al-Atarib and Hazano, in an attempt to arrest the wanted element.

Al-Hasakah:

Syrian Democratic Forces captured the village of Abu Hamda from the Islamic State in southern Al-Hasakah governorate. The captured village is less than five kilometers (three miles) from the Islamic State’s stronghold of Al-Dashisha.

Idlib:

Islamic State’s sleeper cells kidnapped four elements of the Free Syrian Army’s Free Idlib Army and four elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham on the road between Al-Mastouma and Idlib. The elements were captured on the two occasions at an Islamic State’s checkpoint, which was established for today’s operation. Islamic State kidnapped the elements in order to exchange them for 30 of the group’s elements, who were captured by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel operations room Dahar al-Ghaza near Al-Khuwayn. Spokesman of the aforementioned operations room, Captain Naji al-Mustafa confirmed that there are negotiations ongoing with the Islamic State.

Turkish Armed Forces’ convoy entered Syria through Khirbet al-Jawz and headed towards Jabal Ishtabaraq area in western Idlib, in order to strengthen an observation point in the area. The convoy was reportedly escorted by Faylaq al-Sham.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Arab Army’s commander of Al-Firqat 11 Dababat (11th Tank Division), General Ali Muhammad al-Hussein was killed in yesterday’s clashes with the Islamic State at the outskirts of Al-Bukamal (Albu Kamal) in eastern Deir al-Zour.

Al-Suwayda:

Syrian Arab Army continued operations against the Islamic State’s elements in northeastern Al-Suwayda governorate, reportedly reaching the outskirts of Al-Qarah.

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency reported that the group launched an attack against the Syrian Arab Army in Bir al-Awra area, killin 12 soldiers and damaging a tank.

Afghanistan

Balkh Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) raided two Afghan National Army’s posts in Chahar Bolak district, killing four and wounding three soldiers in the process.

Takhar Province:

Afghan Ministry of Defense stated that the Afghan National Security Forces started Tawfan 10 (Storm 10) cleaning operation against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Gurtepah village of Khawajah Bahawodin district. According to the ministry of defense, 17 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and six wounded in the operation, as the village of Gurtepah is still being cleared from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s presence.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed nine and wounded 14 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the province. Separately, the Afghan National Security Forces killed six elements of the Islamic State and destroyed two camps in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle, killing five soldiers in Saydabad district.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Merichaq area of Murghab district. According to the reports, 12 elements of the Afghan National Army, including commander Najibullah were killed and seven wounded in clashes for the checkpoint. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a PK machine gun, an RPG launcher, five assault rifles, and three motorcycles from the checkpoint.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan Ministry of Defense stated that the Afghan National Security Forces launched cleaning operations against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan throughout Ghazni province. According to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, 53 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and 29 wounded in Andar, Ab Band, and Khwaja Umari districts so far in the operations. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that 27 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and 16 wounded, as well as six armored vehicles destroyed during clashes in Andar district.

Paktika Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Police’s vehicle and killed two policemen in Zirok district.

Two elements of the Afghan National Army surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with their weapons in Sharana district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Pur Chaman district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chora district.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group announced a nation-wide three day ceasefire on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Similarly, the Afghan government announced a two week ceasefire across the country due to the same occasion. However, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stated that foreign forces in Afghanistan do not fall under ceasefire and its elements can conduct attacks against them.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed an element of the Afghan National Police in the 10th Police District of the city of Kandahar. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was also killed in the encounter

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Kalancheki area of Maywand district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
