Aleppo:

Unknown gunmen assassinated commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Jabhat al-Shamiyah (Levant Front), Ahmed Mesto (Abu Aslan al-Kurdi) in the village of Al-Amiriyah in Afrin region. Several reports claim that Al-Kurdi was assassinated by the Yekîneyên Parastina Gel’s (People’s Protection Units) cell operating in Afrin region.

Raqqa:

Syrian Democratic Forces’ General Command reportedly announced the formation of ‘Liwa Tahrir Idlib wa Afrin’ (Liberation Brigade of Idlib and Afrin), under the leadership of Abu Satif al-Kastan. The newly-formed brigade’s goals are to capture Idlib governorate and Afrin region from the rebel factions, as well as allow displaced individuals to return to their homes and hand over the administration of the captured areas to local councils.

Al-Hasakah:

Syrian Democratic Forces reportedly captured the village of Al-Hamidiyah from the Islamic State.

Idlib:

Russian Air Force conducted several air raids over the village of Zardana, with reports about high civilian casualties from the air raids. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), at least 42 civilians were killed and more than 80 wounded by the air raids. One element of the Syrian Civil Defense was killed and four wounded in the targeting of Zardana.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham arrested a reported Islamic State’s sleeper cell in the city of Salqin, consisting of two individuals.

Hama:

Improvised explosive device killed an element of Jabhat Tahrir Suriya’s Ahrar al-Sham in the city of Qalaat al-Madiq.

Homs:

Unknown gunmen killed one and wounded one element of the Syrian government’s National Reconciliation Committee in the city of Taldou in northern Homs.

Deir al-Zour:

Islamic State launched a large attack against the Syrian Arab Army and its allies at the outskirts of the city of Al-Bukamal (Albu Kamal) in eastern Deir al-Zour. Islamic State reportedly used several SVBIEDs in an attempt to capture the city and made some advances at the outskirts, while the reports suggest that the Syrian Arab Army managed to destroy two SVBIEDs. After several hours of the clashes, the Syrian Arab Army reportedly managed to repel the attack and counterattacked in order to recapture the lost positions.

Al-Suwayda:

Syrian Arab Army started operations against the Islamic State’s elements present in the eastern, rural part of the governorate. Islamic State’s elements arrived in the governorate after the evacuation deal with the Syrian government in southern Damascus. According to the reports, the Syrian Arab Army made 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) advance towards Khirbet al-Umbashi.

Afghanistan

Kunduz Province:

Kabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (Taliban) improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle and killed five soldiers in Chahar Asyab district. Similarly, two Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle, as well as killed five and wounded three soldiers in Paghman district.

Laghman Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated an element of the ‘National Directorate of Security’ in the city of Mihtarlam, capital of Laghman Province.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan Local Police in Khogyani district

Afghan National Army’s element surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khogyani district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the province.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the province.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided two Afghan National Police’s post in Girda Chiri district, killing and wounding seven elements of the police.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 15 and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two vehicles in Andar district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly repelled and counterattacked an Afghan National Security Forces’ attack in Andar district, killing 13 and wounding ten elements, as well as destroying four armored vehicles.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an Afghan National Army’s base in Qarabagh district. Reports suggest that 11 elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and a vehicle destroyed in the encounter.

Paktika Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked three Afghan Local Police’s posts in Mata Khan district, killing two and wounding three elements of the local police in the process.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group launched large-scale clearance operations against the Afghan National Security Forces in Pur Chaman district. According to Al-Emarah News, the operations still continue and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan managed to clear the villages of Dehdar, Sar Hawza, and Dabina.

Urozgan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Chato Pul area of Deh Rawud district. Five elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and wounded in the raid.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed two elements of the Afghan National Police in Zartali area of Deh Rawud district.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan launched attacks on the Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police, and Afghan Local Police’s positions in Parchaw area of Nad Ali district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly overran a checkpoint, as well as killed six elements of the Afghan National Army and destroyed two armored personnel carriers in the attacks. Three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were wounded in the attacks. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an RPG launcher, a PK machine gun, and two assault rifles from the captured checkpoint.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided an Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Bazar area of Jerashk district, killing three policemen in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also engaged Afghan National Police’s reinforcements arriving to the checkpoint, killing commander Mir Wali and three elements of the police. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed in the encounters.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the province.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
