Aleppo:

Syrian Democratic Forces’ Yekîneyên Parastina Gel (People’s Protection Units) announced withdrawal of its military advisers from the city of Manbij, at the request of the Syrian Democratic Forces’ Manbij Military Council. The General Command of the YPG issued a statement regarding the event;

“In the framework of our general strategy in (YPG) to combat and pursue terrorism, we received an invitation from MMC to launch a military campaign to liberate Manbij city from the grip of the terrorist organization in the first quarter of 2016. Based on this appeal and within the framework of an understanding with international forces and the regional, including Turkey, our forces in coordination with the International Alliance to respond to the appeal of our people in Manbij and began the liberation campaign on the first of June 2016, where the campaign lasted for more than two months and was crowned with victory and defeat terrorism from the city and large parts of its countryside after our troops provided the best fighters in their war against terrorism, and these sacrifices culminated in a statement of Manbij liberation on 15/8/2016.

At the request of the MMC, a group of military trainers from our forces in Manbij remained as military advisers to assist the Military Council in the field of training, in coordination and consultation with the International Coalition. Their work continued from then until now, and now more than two years later from their ongoing work, and the access of the MMC to self-sufficiency, in the areas of training, the YPG’s General Command decided to withdraw their military advisers from Manbij city.

We in YPG assure to the public and our people in Manbij that our sacrifices there were part of our duty to liberate them from the clutches of terrorism that was a threat to all humanity. And to spread peace and tranquility in the liberated areas. similarly, we affirm that our forces will respond to the appeal to provide support and assistance to our people in Manbij if necessary. “

Raqqa:

Unknown gunmen opened fire on a Syrian Democratic Forces’ patrol in the village of Al-Salhabiyah, west of Raqqa. Three elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces were wounded in the incident.

Al-Hasakah:

Syrian Democratic Forces captured the village of Al-Jakah, 15 kilometers (nine miles) south of Al-Shadaddi from the Islamic State, a day after starting military operations against the group in the governorate. Syrian Democratic Forces also captured three hamlets near Al-Jakah.

CJTF-OIR conducted air raids against the Islamic State over the village of Jazaa. However, the Syrian Arab News Agency stated that the air raids over Jazaa killed ten civilians.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham publicly executed two individuals in the city of Idlib, on the charges of belonging to the Islamic State.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham conducted anti-Islamic State operations in the village of Kafr Hand, south of Salqin and raided an Islamic State’s training camp in the area. According to the reports, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham killed 22 and arrested four elements of the Islamic State, as well as seized around 40 assault rifles, machine guns, and other weapons. Several reports claimed that the Islamic State’s elements that were based in the training camp arrived in Idlib governorate after the city of Mosul in Iraq was captured by the Iraqi Security Forces.

Homs:

Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh Maghawir al-Thawra (Revolutionary Commando Army) clashed with the Islamic State’s elements, after the latter attacked the former’s patrol near Al-Rukban refugee camp. Reports suggest that ten elements of the Islamic State were killed, while one element of Jaysh Maghawir al-Thawra was wounded in the encounter.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Arab News Agency stated that the Syrian Arab Army and its allies recovered all of the points, which the Islamic State captured during its two-day attacks in eastern Deir al-Zour. Syrian Arab News Agency’s statement regarding the event;

Units of Syrian Arab Army secured points previously infiltrated by Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that army units, supported by allied forces, carried out intensive operation against Daesh terrorists who managed during the past two days to infiltrate to a number of military points and important areas in the direction of al-Jalaa, al-Hasrat and al-Sayal towns on the western bank of the Euphrates River in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The reporter added that scores of terrorists were killed or injured due to the operation in addition to the destruction of their vehicles and equipment.

Daraa:

Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid launched an inghimasi (suicide fighters) attack against the rebel factions around Hayt. According to the reports, three elements of the Free Syrian Army were killed and four wounded in the encounter, while reports suggest that around a dozen of Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid’s elements were killed and wounded in the attack. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that five elements of the rebel factions were killed in the attack.

Afghanistan

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces conducted Tawfan 11 (Storm 11) cleaning operation against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Khawajah Bahawodin and Dashti Qala districts. According to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, 40 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and 36 wounded in the operation. One of the 40 killed elements was Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s governor of Yangi Qala district, Mullah Muhammad Qazil (Abu Yusef). Afghan Ministry of Defense also stated that the villages of Jat Awlang, Timtakla, Pengani, Yaka Touth, Mamour Hassan, Sharkahnah Doung Qashlaq, Wali Abad, Hirtan, Qurghasa, Talqani Qashlaq, and Khair Abad were cleared from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s presence. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that more than 40 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed during clashes in Dashti Qala district.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Afghan Local Police’s commander, Rahimullah and seven elements of the local police defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Lati area of Sar-e Pol district. The elements handed over an RPG launcher, a PK machine gun, five assault rifles, and four motorcycles to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Baghlan Province:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device killed two and wounded one civilian in the city of Baghlan.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a fighting position and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Asmar district.

Kabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Afghan National Police, killing three policemen in the city of Kabul. Similarly, two elements of the ‘National Directorate of Security’ were killed when their vehicle was targeted by an improvised explosive device in Paghman district.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the ‘National Directorate of Security’, wounding four elements in the city of Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar Province.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a motorcycle in Chaki Wardak district.

Logar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Babous district.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an Afghan National Security Forces’ base in Deh Yak district. Separately, four elements of the Afghan National Police were killed in an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s attack on a checkpoint in Deh Yak district.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group overran Mushkan area of Pur Chaman district, after taking control of the last three Afghan National Security Forces’ checkpoints in the area.

Afghan National Army’s commander, Bismillah and four other elements of the army defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Bolok area of Pusht Rod district. The elements handed over an armored vehicle and eight PK machine guns to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three fighting positions in Chora district.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three elements of the Afghan National Army in Kharan area of Shahr-e Safa district. Separately, an element of the ‘National Directorate of Security’ was arrested by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Baylogh area of Daychopan district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and wounded nine elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as discovered and defused 43 improvised explosive devices in Nad Ali district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three elements of the Afghan National Army in Khalqay Charrahi area of Nad Ali district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Police in Tanki and Zabar areas of Nahri Saraj district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a group of Afghan National Police’s elements in the 12th Police District of the city of Kandahar. The explosion killed Afghan National Police’s commander, Sharaf al-Deen and two other commanders, as well as wounded additional three elements of the police.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
