Aleppo:

Free Syrian Army’s Firqat al-Hamza reportedly imposed taxes on vehicles coming from ‘Euphrates Shield’ shield areas towards Afrin and vice versa, through the faction’s checkpoint near the village of Al-Basouta. Reports suggest that vehicles need to pay 2000 Syrian Pounds (~4 US Dollars) in order to pass through the checkpoint.

Al-Hasakah:

Reports claim that tensions rose between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Arab Army and allies in the city of Al-Qamishli. According to the reports, the tensions started when the Syrian Arab Army arrested a commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces at a checkpoint in the city. In response, the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested three elements of the Syrian Arab Army and allies. The same reports claim that negotiations between the two parties are ongoing regarding the release of the arrested elements.

CJTF-OIR conducted air raids against the Islamic State over the village of Dhib Hadaj in Al-Shaddadi subdistrict. However, reports suggest that the air raids killed at least eight and wounded two civilians.

Idlib:

Syrian Salvation Government’s Al-Katibat al-Amniyah (Security Battalion) arrested two students of the ‘Institute of Technology’ at the University of Idlib. Charges against the two individuals are still unknown.

Improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle and wounded one civilian in the city of Sarmin.

Hama:

Dozens of individuals from Al-Lataminah and Kafr Zita demonstrated in front of the Turkish Armed Forces’ observation post east of Morek, calling on the Turkish Armed Forces to establish observation points in their localities, in order to stop targeting of the two localities.

Deir al-Zour:

Syrian Democratic Forces reportedly opened Al-Kharafi road from Al-Hasakah governorate to the areas under the control of the Islamic State in the eastern part of Deir al-Zour governorate. Spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces’ Manbij Military Council, Laila al-Abdullah stated that the road was opened in order to bring food and other supplies to the civilians who are trapped and used as human shields by the Islamic State.

Daraa:

Unknown gunmen killed three members of Al-Ghariyah al-Sharqiyah’s reconciliation committee on the road between Al-Ghariyah al-Sharqiyah and Al-Musayfirah. The killed members of the commitee were identified as; Tawfiq al-Ghunaim (Abu Mutai), Mohammed al-Ghunaim (Abu Arshid), and Muwafaq al-Barjas. Reports suggest that the members of the committee were on their way to conduct negotiations with the Syrian government when they were killed.

Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets) discovered two bodies of unknown individuals in the governorate. One body was found near Sidon bridge on the Damascus – Amman road, while the second body was found at the outskirts of the city of Daraa.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban), as well as destroyed four motorcycles in Khwaja Sahib Posh district.

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed a group of Afghan Local Police’s elements in the city of Kunduz. Afghan Local Police’s commander, Azizullah and three other elements of the police were killed in the ambush. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a PK machine gun and two assault rifles from the killed elements.

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four, wounded five, and arrested four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khwaja Ghar district.

Kunar Province:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency released a statement claiming that the group took control of Shulat area from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and an element of the Islamic State in Ghani Khel and Chaparhar districts.

Islamic State’s sniper killed an element of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Islam (Army of Islam) in Uri Khula area of Nazyan district.

Logar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 16 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, including commander Mawlavi Sardar, as well as destroyed a vehicle in Baraki Barak, Mohammad Agha, and Pol-e Alam districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Paktia Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured two elements of the Afghan National Army in Lazha Mangal district.

Herat Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle, killing two and wounding one soldier in Gandam area of Ghoryan district

Ghor Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed an element of the Afghan National Army in Feroz Koh area of the city of Chaghcharan (Firuzkuh), capital of Ghor Province.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group repelled an Afghan National Security Forces’ offensive in Andar district, killing at least 11 elements.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, including a commander named Norgol in Pusht Rod district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed two fighting positions in Nahri Saraj and Nad Ali districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed and wounded four elements of the Afghan National Army in Haji Malang Killi area of Nad Ali district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier with an RPG in Seydano area of Jerashk district.

Kandahar Province:

Two Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices destroyed two Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carriers in Tor Kotal area of Shah Wali Kot district. Similarly, an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle in Marghan Keiji area of Daman district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
