Aleppo:

Syrian Arab Army and the Free Syrian Army sporadically clashed in Tadef, south of Al-Bab. Reports suggest that an element of the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Jabhat al-Shamiyah (Levant Front) was killed and another wounded in the encounter. The wounded element was reportedly transferred to Turkey for treatment.

Latakia:

Last night, Russian air defences shot down an unknown drone which was approaching Hmeimim Air Base.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham carried out raids in the city of Idlib, arresting two individuals reportedly involved in the wave of recent assassinations in the governorate. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham also arrested an individual in Kurin village on the same charges, after he was wounded during clashes with the group.

Hama:

Families of the Islamic State’s elements from Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Al-Yarmouk camp, south of Damascus arrived at Qalaat al-Madiq crossing in western Hama. The batch reportedly consisted of around 175 individuals, who will be transferred to Saed camp in Idlib governorate.

Homs:

Negotiations Committee of the Northern Homs started compiling a list of the Free Syrian Army’s elements that refused to settle their situation with the Syrian government and decided to leave the region. Reports suggest that 200 elements in Talbiseh will be evacuated to northern Syria, while others claimed that around 500 elements in total will leave towards the north.

Islamic State conducted an SVBIED operation against the Syrian Arab Army and allied militias near an oil well, southeast of T-3 airbase. According to the reports, at least seven elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in the operation.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (Taliban) Al-Emarah News stated that the group is in control of Ghalbyan area of Gurziwan district, after capturing a military base and 12 checkpoints in the area, following Afghan National Security Forces’ withdrawal from the area. The aforementioned area contains more than 7500 families.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran two Afghan National Army’s checkpoints in Qaramqol district, killing six soldiers in the process.

Jowzjan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 15 and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed 30 motorcycles and four vehicles in Khamyab district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Balkh Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 22 and wounded 13 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chimtal district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that 17 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and 12 wounded, as the group repelled an offensive in Chimtal district.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as found and defused 12 improvised explosive devices in the province.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two Afghan Local Police’s posts in Qalay-I-Zal district, reportedly killing 11 and wounding six elements of the local police in the process.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed one and wounded one element of the Afghan National Police in Ali Abad district.

Badakhshan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group cleared a large area in Tishkan district from the Afghan National Security Forces. Separately, six elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the district.

Kabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces arrested three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Batkhak district during a patrol. Two of the three arrested elements are reportedly from Pakistan.

Nangarhar Province:

National Directorate of Security arrested an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sleeper cell in the city of Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar Province. The cell consisted of 13 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan National Army in Surkh Rod district.

Paktia Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Police’s post at the outskirts of the city of Gardez, capital of Paktia Province. Four elements of the Afghan National Police were killed, over a dozen wounded, and three captured in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized seven assault rifles, three PK machine guns, and two grenades from the post.

Herat Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Tanki area of Kushki Kuhna district. Two elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and seven wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two PK machine guns and two assault rifles from the checkpoint.

Ghor Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Dulayna and Shahrak districts.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar, Ajristan, and Ghazni districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News claimed that the group captured Chaghto and Deh Yak districts from the Afghan National Security Forces, after storming and capturing headquarters and all military installations in the aforementioned districts.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces conducted clearing operations across Bala Buluk district against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Afghan National Security Forces killed 33, wounded 12, and arrested 23 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two vehicles, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces conducted a special operation against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Marjah district, raiding one of the group’s prisons in the district. Afghan National Security Forces freed 14 civilians and one soldier, as well as arrested six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the operation.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Police and an element of the Afghan Local Police in Basharan area of Lashkar Gah district.

Kandahar Province:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device exploded in the 14th Police District of the city of Kandahar, as the Afghan National Security Forces were trying to defuse it. According to the Kandahar governor’s spokesman Daud Ahmadi, 12 civilians were killed and 31 wounded, while four elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and six wounded in the explosion.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran four Afghan National Army’s checkpoints in Shah Ghondan Nika area of Khakrez district. At least eight elements of the Afghan National Army were killed in clashes, while the remaining elements withdrew from the checkpoints. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed in clashes for the checkpoints. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a PK machine gun, an RPG launcher, three assault rifles, and 33 grenades from the checkpoints.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Batu area of Maruf district, killing two and wounding three soldiers in the process.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.

Islamic State’s fighters assassinated an element of the Somali Police Force in the city of Mogadishu, capital of Somalia.
