Aleppo:

Fourth and final batch of evacuated rebel elements and their families from Al-Ruhaybah, Jayroud, and Al-Nasiriyah in the Eastern Qalamoun arrived at Abu al-Zindeen crossing near the city of Al-Bab in northern Aleppo. The batch reportedly consisted of around 1785 rebel elements and civilians, who will be transferred to a camp for internally displaced persons in the city of Jindires, southwest of Afrin.

Three prominent members of the ‘National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces’; George Sabra, Suhair al-Attasi, and Khaled Khoja resigned from the coalition, due to the coalition’s deviation from goals set at the formation of it. After the resignation of the three aforementioned members, the Free Syrian Army’s Liwa al-Mutasim announced its withdrawal of recognition of the ‘National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces’. Liwa al-Mutasim stated that the group withdrew the recognition due to the coalition’s “clinical death”.

Rebel “guerrilla” group Harakat al-Qiyam assassinated three elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the city of Manbij in northern Aleppo. The group stated that one of the three killed elements was Abu Jabal Gadru, in charge of checkpoints and patrols.

Syrian Arab Red Crescent mediated a prisoner exchange between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Hezbollah near Al-Eis crossing in southern Aleppo. Hezbollah released three elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in exchange for two Hezbollah’s elements from Nubl and al-Zahraa.

Al-Hasakah:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device wounded a civilian in Jabal al-Aziz area near the village of Jarn. The wounded civilian is currently in a hospital in Ras al-Ayn and is expected to be transferred to a hospital in Al-Qamishli.

Idlib:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s Ibaa News Agency quoted Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s security official Ayman al-Shami, who denied that the group arrested former leader of the Free Syrian Army’s Liwa Shuhada al-Islam, Captain Said Naqrish (Abu Jamal) in Sarmada yesterday.

Maarat al-Numaan’s residents released a statement rejecting any agreement that allows Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to enter their city. According to the statement, any Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s element carrying weapon or driving a military vehicle, as well as trying to open headquarters of the group in the locality will be considered as target for the residents of Maarat al-Numaan.

Damascus:

Syrian Arab Army took control of all of the rebel-held localities and areas in the Eastern Qalamoun, after rebel elements and their families were evacuated from Al-Ruhaybah, Jayroud, and Al-Nasiriyah towards northern Syria.

Syrian Arab Army made limited advances against the Islamic State in Al-Hajar al-Aswad and reportedly entered Al-Maadhaniyah district. Syrian Arab Army backed by allies also reportedly made limited advances against the Islamic State in Al-Baradi neighborhood and Al-Baradat street of Al-Tadamon district. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the group’s snipers killed three elements of the Syrian Arab Army in Al-Tadamon district.

Jaysh al-Islam released a statement mourning death of ten of its elements, including two commanders, due to the Syrian Arab Army’s shelling of Al-Zayn neighborhood, south of Damascus. The two killed commanders are; Abu Samir Sulayman Hamza and Abu al-Yaman Shamil Yalda.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) ambushed and killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Sahray Kala area of Juma Bazar district.

Jowzjan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly cleared two villages in Faizabad district from the Afghan National Security Forces, reportedly killing six and wounding ten elements in the process.

Balkh Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed Afghan National Army’s elements in Chahar Bolak district. Six elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and five wounded in the ambush.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed 83 fighting positions and defused 36 improvised explosive devices in Khan Abad and Archi (Dasht-e Archi) districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shaigal and Chapa Dara districts.

Parwan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced the start of a new nation-wide spring operation against the Afghan National Security Forces named ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’. Afghan National Police’s headquarters and checkpoints in Syagard district came under attack, as part of the newly-launched operation. Five elements of the Afghan National Police were killed and dozens wounded in the encounters.

Kapisa Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Army’s post in Nijrab district, as part of the newly-launched ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’. Similarly, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Police’s post in Koh Band district, killing two and wounding one policeman.

Kabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Police’s post in the city of Kabul. Three elements of the Afghan National Police were killed and several wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized large quantities of ammunition from the post.

Laghman Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Alingar district.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and four elements of the Islamic State, as well as wounded three elements and destroyed seven weapons depots and ammunition caches in Achin, Sherzad, and Khogyani districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three elements of the Afghan National Police and three elements of the Afghan Local Police, as well as wounded additional three policemen in Bati Kot district.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jaji Arioub and Zurmat districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed Afghan Local Police’s elements in the city of Gardez, capital of Paktia Province. Two elements of the Afghan Local Police were killed and a motorcycle destroyed in the attack.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan launched attacks against the Afghan National Army in Achako area of Muqur, as part of the nation-wide spring operation ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran two checkpoints in the aforementioned area and killed seven Afghan National Army’s elements in the process, while one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a DShK heavy machine gun, four assault rifles, four motorcycles, and eight boxes of ammunition from the two checkpoints.

Ghor Province:

Residents of five large villages in Chahar Sada district; Qarya Gaw Kushta, Seyah Khak, Zaqand, Gardan Buraid, and Sam Sangin pledged their allegiance to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The aforementioned villages contain more than 500 families, under the leadership of Mavlavi Abdul Azim, Seyad Gul and other tribal elders. Residents and the leadership of the villages handed over 50 assault rifles, two PK machine guns, and an RPG launcher to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed four and wounded four elements of the Afghan National Police in the city of Ghazni. Similarly, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked several Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police’s checkpoints in Shalgar district, reportedly killing six and wounding six elements.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle in Shib Koh district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 19 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed four fighting positions and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Tarinkot district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qalat district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive destroyed an Afghan National Army’s Kamaz truck in Umar Khelo area of the city of Qalat, killing four and wounding two soldiers.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan launched coordinated attacks on the Afghan National Army’s positions in Daychopan, as part of the newly-launched spring offensive named ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’. Reports suggest that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran three checkpoints, while several other checkpoints remain under siege.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Qayyum Agha Killi area of Tarnak Aw Jaldak district. Similarly, an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier was destroyed by an improvised explosive device in Makarak area of Mizan district, killing four soldiers.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Salsun area of Maruf district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
