Al-Hasakah:

Rebel “guerrilla” group Harakat al-Qiyam assassinated an element of the Syrian Democratic Forces in or around the city of Al-Qamishli.

Latakia:

Rebel inghimasi (suicide fighters) conducted a raid against the Syrian Arab Army on Tell Rasho. Reports suggest that nine elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in the raid.

Idlib:

Demonstrations against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its leader, Abu Mohammad al-Jolani were held in the city of Maarat al-Numaan. Around 100 demonstrators chanted slogans against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and denounced the group’s latest attack on the city.

Hama:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeted Al-Kabir mosque in the city of Qalaat al-Madiq in northwestern Hama. According to the reports, the explosion wounded one civilian and caused significant material damage.

Homs:

Unknown gunmen attempted to assassinate commander of the central region in the rebel Northern Homs pocket, Colonel Ibrahim Bakkar (Abu Khalil). The unknown gunmen activated an improvised explosive device in front of Bakkar’s house in Al-Houla area, however, Bakkar wasn’t wounded in the explosion.

Damascus:

Syrian Arab Army and Syrian Arab Air Force targeted Al-Yarmouk camp, Al-Hajar al-Aswad, Al-Qadam, and Al-Tadamon south of Damascus. Reports claim that seven civilians were killed and a dozen wounded by the targeting of the aforementioned localities.

Islamic State shelled Barzeh, Al-Zahira, and Al-Tadamon areas of the city of Damascus. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, six civilians were wounded by the shelling of the aforementioned localities.

Syrian Arab Army and allies started an attack against the Islamic State, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, and rebel factions south of Damascus. Reports suggest that the Syrian Arab Army captured Ali bin Abi Talib mosque and Silikha street in Al-Tadamon neighborhood from the Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh al-Ababil. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that ten elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed during clashes in Al-Tadamon neighborhood.

National Defense Forces’ war correspondent, Ayhab Balan was killed as he was covering military operations against the Islamic State south of Damascus.

Syrian Arab News Agency stated that rebel fighters in Yalda, Babbila, and Beit Sahem accepted an agreement with the Syrian government. The agreement includes ceasefire and evacuation of rebel elements to either Idlib or eastern desert.

Syrian Arab Army captured Jabal al-Batra and Jabal al-Afai, northeast of Al-Ruhaybah in Eastern Qalamoun region. Separately, Russian Military Police reportedly entered Al-Ruhaybah, as part of an evacuation agreement between rebel elements and Syrian government backed by Russia.

Daraa:

Free Syrian Army arrested 13 elements of the Islamic State in Kafr Shams. The arrested elements were reportedly trying to reach the areas under the control of the Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid in southwestern Daraa.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Yaka Toth area of Pashtun Kot district, reportedly killing two and arresting three soldiers in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized four assault rifles from the checkpoint.

Baghlan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an Afghan Local Police’s commander in Puli Khumri district.

Kapisa Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tagab district.

Laghman Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated an Afghan Local Police’s commander in the city of Mihtarlam, capital of Laghman Province.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three, wounded three, and arrested 15 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three vehicles and seized several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Khogyani district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan repelled Afghan National Security Forces’ offensive in Momand Dara district, reportedly killing two and wounding seven elements.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed one and wounded three elements of the Afghan National Army in Bati Kot district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nirkh district.

Logar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Army, as well as destroyed a vehicle in Mohammad Agha district.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked several Afghan National Army’s bases and posts in Loye Qarargah area of Ghormach district. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and three wounded, while one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and another wounded in the attack. One of the three Afghan National Army’s wounded elements is commander Agha Jan.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated an Afghan National Army’s commander in Qarabagh district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s armored vehicle and wounded three soldiers in Deh Yak district.

Farah Province:

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded 12 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed 12 vehicles and several weapons depots and ammunition cache in Khas Urozgan district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized two vehicles and several weapon depots and ammunition caches in Jerashk and Nad Ali districts.

Two Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier and a vehicle in Awpashak Manda area of Jerashk district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed seven elements of the Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police, and Afghan Border Police in Jerashk, Nad Ali, and Lashkar Gah districts.

CJTF-OIR:

Between the 13th and the 19th of April 2018 CJTF-OIR has conducted 23 strikes in Syria. CJTF-OIR‘s main focus in Syria at the moment is Deir al-Zour-Albu Kamal region where they did 21 strikes supporting SDF‘s operations against IS destroying four IS fighting position, an IED factory, three command and control centers, three IS IEDs, 11 IS-held buildings, an IS headquarters, and a VBIED factory.

Other area where two strikes occurred is Al-Shadaddi, destroying two IS vehicles. Full report on CJTF-OIR strikes conducted in both Syria & Iraq can be found here.
