Aleppo:

Improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Free Syrian Army’s Firqat al-Hamza in the city of Soran, north of Aleppo. The explosion wounded two elements of Firqat al-Hamza. One of the two elements is in critical condition and is expected to be transferred to Turkey for treatment.

Rebel “guerrilla” group Harakat al-Qiyam assassinated two elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces in northern Aleppo region.

Idlib:

Demonstrations against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham were held in the village of Kafr Sajna, after the group captured the locality from Jabhat Tahrir Suriya (Ahrar al-Sham and Harakat Nour al-Deen al-Zenki). Demonstrators burnt tires and blocked roads leading in and out of the village. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham arrested two individuals in the village on the charges of belonging to Jabhat Tahrir Suriya, however, clashes occurred between the two parties, as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham attempted to arrest the two individuals, and one of the two individuals was wounded.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham repelled Jabhat Tahrir Suriya’s attack on Tell Aas, south of Idlib. Today’s clashes between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhat Tahrir Suriya resulted in closure of the road between Al-Habit and Khan Shaykhun.

Damascus:

Free Syrian Army’s Quwat al-Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo and Jaysh Tahrir al-Sham launched another joint attack against the Syrian Arab Army in Al-Mahasa area, Eastern Qalamoun region. According to Jaysh Tahrir al-Sham, the two factions killed ten elements of the Syrian Arab Army and destroyed a BMP in the attack.

Evacuation agreement between rebel factions in Al-Dumayr and Syrian government started being implement today, after being agreed upon on the 11th of April. Syrian Arab News Agency stated that around 1000 elements of Jaysh al-Islam will be evacuated towards Jarabulus in northern Aleppo. The agency also stated that 60 rebels decided to reconcile with the government. Jaysh al-Islam’s member of media office in Al-Dumayr, Marwan al-Qadi stated that around 1500 elements and civilians will be evacuated to northern Aleppo. Al-Qadi also stated that around 100 elements of Quwat al-Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo could also be evacuated from Al-Dumayr. Quwat al-Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo’s director of media office, Said Saif stated that there is a possibility that some elements of the faction could be evacuated.

Commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Liwa Maghawir al-Sahara, Mohammed Ahmed Shaaban (Al-Dali) and elements under his command reconciled with the Syrian government in the city of Al-Dumayr.

Two vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeted the vicinity of Al-Numan mosque in the city of Douma. Reports suggest that the explosions killed one and wounded two civilians.

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the group’s snipers killed three elements of the Syrian Arab Army in Al-Yarmouk camp and Al-Tadamon neighborhood, south of Damascus.

Iraq

Diyala:

Islamic State’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Iraqi Army in Al-Naqib village, south of Buhriz. According to the Islamic State’s Amaq Agency, the explosion killed one and wounded four elements of the Iraqi Army, as well as damaged the vehicle.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) overran Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Tash Kala area of Shirin Tagab district. Four elements of the Afghan National Army, including commander Samar-ul-Din were killed in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized three assault rifles from the checkpoint.

Jowzjan Province:

Jowzjan governor’s spokesman, Mohammad Reza stated that the Islamic State kidnapped and beheaded a child in Derzab district. Reza also stated that the kidnapped child was a 13 year old from Beto village in Derzab district. Islamic State reportedly beheaded the child due to his family’s association with the Afghan Local Police.

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated Afghan Local Police’s commander, Mir Ahmad in the city of Kunduz.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Afghan National Army in Khogyani district, killing two and wounding three soldiers.

Logar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Afghan National Army in the city of Pol-e Alam, capital of Logar Province. The explosion killed five elements of the Afghan National Army. Similarly, two elements of the Afghan National Army were wounded by an improvised explosive device in the city of Pol-e Alam.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as defused ten improvised explosive devices in Dand Aw Patan district.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 14 and wounded 15 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Muqur district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed three and wounded four elements of the Afghan Local Police, as well as destroyed an armored vehicle and seized a motorcycle in Muqur district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Police’s post in the city of Ghazni, reportedly killing three and wounding five policemen in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized three assault rifles, a heavy machine gun, three hand grenades, and ammunition from the post. Similarly, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran two Afghan National Police’s posts in Chaghto district. Reports suggest that eight elements of the Afghan National Police were killed and six wounded in the encounters.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided an Afghan National Police’s post in Shalgar district, killing three and wounding one policeman. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed in the encounter.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 38 and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized two vehicles in Pusht Rod and Qala-I-Kah districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Among the 38 reportedly killed elements are ten Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commanders; Nematullah, Qari Majid, Haji Wahed, Mullah Qader, Hafez Saber, Jilan, Nader, Nabi, Habibullah Matshir, and Bashir.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Arghandab district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Jerashk district. One of the five killed elements was Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commander, Hakim.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s foot patrol in Camp area of Marjah district, wounding two soldiers. Similarly, an Afghan Local Police’s vehicle was destroyed by an improvised explosive device in Awpashak Manda area of Jerashk district.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded nine elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Wali Kot and Khakrez districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers targeted an Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Arowgh area of Khakrez district, killing two policemen.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Saprei Qaragah area of Arghandab district. Similarly, an Afghan National Army’s vehicle was destroyed by an improvised explosive device in Tor Kotal area of Shah Wali Kot district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
