Aleppo:

Rebel “guerrilla” group Harakat al-Qiyam announced death of one of its elements, due to a failed assassination attempt on a Syrian Democratic Forces’ commander in the city of Manbij. According to Harakat al-Qiyam, this is the first element of the group that was killed. Reports suggest that Harakat al-Qiyam attempted to assassinate Syrian Democratic Forces’ commander, Cemil Mazlum in Manbij city.

Jabhat Tahrir Suriya (Ahrar al-Sham and Harakat Nour al-Deen al-Zenki) reportedly captured Al-Sadiyah and Al-Fursan associations, Tulti al-Numan and al-Dabah, and Ajel in western Aleppo from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. Three elements affiliated to the Turkistan Islamic Party were captured by Jabhat Tahrir Suriya in western Aleppo, while Turkistan Islamic Party remained silent on the matter. Free Syrian Army’s Al-Firqat al-Tasea Quwat Khasa (9th Division Special Forces) joined Jabhat Tahrir Suriya in the latter’s fighting against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. Al-Firqat al-Tasea Quwat Khasa’s elements entered Idlib through northern Aleppo and have established headquarters in the city of Darat Izza.

Raqqa:

Improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Syrian Democratic Forces in Al-Jizra district of the city of Raqqa. According to the reports, the explosion killed one element of the Syrian Democratic Forces and four civilians present in the area. Similarly, a left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device reportedly killed two civilians in the village of Al-Adnaniyah.

Homs:

Al-Jaysh al-Watani al-Suri’s (Syrian National Army) Al-Faylaq al-Rabea (Fourth Corps/Legion) stated that rebel factions recaptured all of the lost positions/localities from the Syrian Arab Army on Salim front. This statement indicates that Salim and possibly Al-Hamrat are both under the control of the rebel factions.

Syrian Arab Army and allies made more advances against the rebel factions in the northern part of the Northern Homs pocket, after capturing Jabal al-Jin in the same part of the pocket yesterday. Reports suggest that the Syrian Arab Army captured Beit al-Ray, Wadi al-Khanazir, Wadi al-Hibaya, Ard Qaber, Al-Sheikha, Dahrat Jababi, Dahrat al-Jasiya, Wadi al-Qarbat, Khirbet Barbara, and Tell al-Naourah.

Deir al-Zour:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed two and wounded three civilians in the Syrian Democratic Forces-held village of Al-Shuhail in the eastern Deir al-Zour.

Damascus:

Free Syrian Army’s Quwat al-Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo and Jaysh Tahrir al-Sham launched a joint attack against the Syrian Arab Army in Al-Mahasa area, Eastern Qalamoun region. According to the reports, the two factions captured four Syrian Arab Army’s checkpoints/barriers in the area and seized a tank, a BMP, and large quantities of ammunition. Several reports claim that 20 elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in the attack, while one element of Quwat al-Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo was reported as killed. However, Quwat al-Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo’s director of media office, Said Saif stated that the two factions were forced to withdraw from the captured checkpoints, due to the Syrian Arab Air Force bombardment of the captured checkpoints and Syrian Arab Army’s reinforcements arriving to the area.

Iraq

Baghdad:

Iraqi Security Forces conducted operations in Albu Awsij area, south of Baghdad. Security forces found two left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive devices, which were safely detonated in a controlled explosion.

Afghanistan

Balkh Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Chimtal district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly captured a large area and cleared five villages from the Afghan National Security Forces in Chahar Bolak district. Afghan National Security Force’s post in the area remains under the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s siege.

Badakhshan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed two and wounded three elements of the Afghan Local Police in Raghistan district. Similarly, three Afghan Local Police’s element were wounded in an encounter with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khash district.

Baghlan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed two and wounded one element of the Afghan National Army, during clashes between the two in Dushi district.

Afghan National Army’s element defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Pul-e Khomri district.

Kunar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated Afghan Local Police’s commander Bahaduri in Nari district.

Laghman Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan National Army in the city of Mihtarlam, capital of Laghman Province.

Six elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Alishang district.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan Local Police’s positions in Momand Dara and Pachir Aw Agam districts. Reports suggest that three elements of the Afghan Local Police were killed and four wounded in the attacks.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle, killing three and wounding two soldiers in the city of Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar Province. Similarly, an Afghan National Army’s vehicle was destroyed by an improvised explosive device, killing three and wounding three soldiers in Surkh Rod district.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Zurmat district. One of the four killed elements was the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commander, Abdul Halim. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed an Afghan National Army’s supply convoy in Zurmat district, killing three and wounding two soldiers.

Khost Province:

Afghan National Security Forces opened fire on the elements of the Pakistan Armed Forces, who reportedly entered Afghanistan, as they were inspecting the border area, in order to establish a barrier/wall. Reports suggest that two elements of the Pakistan Armed Forces were killed and two arrested in the encounter. Pakistani Army’s spokesman, General Asif Ghafour stated that the Afghan National Security Forces attacked Pakistani Armed Forces’ elements in Karam area of Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Ghafour also stated that two elements of the Pakistan Armed Forces were killed and five wounded in the encounter. One element of the Afghan National Security Forces and two civilians were also killed in the encounter.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted an Afghan National Army’s convoy and destroyed a fuel tanker, killing two soldiers in Nadir Shah Kot district. Similarly, two elements of the Afghan National Police were wounded by an improvised explosive device in the city of Kot.

Herat Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Shabi area of Adraskan district. One element of the Afghan National Army was killed and three wounded, as well as a vehicle destroyed in the raid.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two Afghan National Police’s posts in Chaghto, reportedly killing eight elements of the police in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two motorcycles and large quantities of ammunition from the two posts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed a group of Afghan National Army’s elements in Gelan district. Two elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and one wounded in the ambush.

Paktika Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device wounded two elements of the Afghan Local Police in Urgun district.

Four elements of the Afghan National Army and one element of the Afghan National Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with their weapons in Jani Khel district.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Maso Dorahi area of Pusht Rod district. Two elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and three wounded in the attack. After the attack, Afghan Air Force conducted air raids over the area, killing two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and wounding three civilians.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Police’s center in Kotwalo area of the city of Tarinkot, capital of Urozgan Province. According to the reports, 15 elements of the Afghan National Police were killed and wounded, while two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were wounded in the encounter.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier in Loy Sharah Killi area of Seuyrie district. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in the same area.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed 12 fighting positions and defused 14 improvised explosive devices in Jerashk and Sangin districts.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers reportedly killed five elements of the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police in Khakrez and Shah Wali Kot districts.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.

Amaq Agency:

Somalia:

Islamic State’s fighters assassinated an element of the Somali National Army in Hawi Taku area of Afgooye, Lower Shebelle province.

Yemen:

Islamic State launched an attack against the Yemeni Army in Qaifa directorate, northwest of Al-Bayda. Amaq Agency released photos showing at least five captured elements of the Yemeni Army in the attack.
