Aleppo:

Eight batch of Jaysh al-Islam’s elements and their families arrived at Abu al-Zindeen crossing near the city of Al-Bab in northern Aleppo. The batch consisted of 3532 Jaysh al-Islam’s elements and civilians. Several reports suggest that Jaysh al-Islam’s leader, Essam al-Buwaydhani arrived in northern Aleppo with the batch.

Damascus:

Islamic State reportedly launched an attack against the Syrian Arab Army in Al-Mahasa area, Eastern Qalamoun region. Reports suggest that the Islamic State captured several positions and allegedly killed more than 20 elements of the Syrian Arab Army & allied militias.

Quneitra:

Improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Free Syrian Army near the city of Ghadir al-Bustan. The explosion killed the commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Tajammu al-Ahrar, Naser Muhammad Ruis (Abu Yazen Al-Jubailiyah), and wounded commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Liwa al-Omrin, Abu Jawad al-Jubailiyah.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 32 and wounded eight elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Ghormach, Pashtun Kot, and Gurziwan districts, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Jowzjan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces launched a large-scale operation against the Islamic State in the center of Derzab district. Afghan National Security Forces killed seven elements of the Islamic State, including commander Muhammad Yussef, while more than 20 elements were wounded, including commander Shubir Ahamad. Islamic State reportedly retreated from its headquarters and positions in the center of Derzab district, as the Afghan National Security Forces continued the operation in the district.

Balkh Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that the group repelled Afghan National Security Forces’ offensive in Chahar Bolak district, killing seven and wounding 11 elements.

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly killed several elements of the Afghan National Army and destroyed a vehicle in Khan Abad district.

Baghlan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed one and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Dushi district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated Afghan Local Police’s commander Hafizullah in Baghlan-e-Markazi district. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed two elements of the Afghan Local Police in Burka district.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chapa Dara district.

Laghman Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan Local Police in Qarghayi district.

Nangarhar Province:

Paktia Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured an Afghan National Army’s post in the city of Gardez, capital of Paktia Province. Three elements of the Afghan National Army were reportedly killed and several more wounded in the encounter. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle in the city of Gardez, killing five soldiers.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked several Afghan National Army’s posts in Zurmat district, reportedly killing eight and wounding several soldiers. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and one wounded in the encounters.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported that Afghan National Security Forces retreated from 12 checkpoints in Kahir Khana area of Qadis district. After the retreat, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured the checkpoints and large surrounding areas.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan arrested an element of the National Directorate of Security in Ab Kamari district.

Herat Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran Afghan National Army’s military base in Nari Pula area of Shindand district. Reports suggest that 12 elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and three wounded in the encounter, while the remaining elements withdrew from the base. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also engaged Afghan National Army’s reinforcements from Bazar area, reportedly killing eight and wounding five soldiers, as well as destroying four vehicles. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized eight assault rifles, an RPG launcher, a PK machine gun, and large quantities of ammunition from the encounter.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Afghan Local Police’s vehicle in Khwaja Nooh area of Shindand district, killing four elements of the police.

Ghazni Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed five elements of the Afghan National Army and destroyed a vehicle in the city of Ghazni. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed two and wounded two elements of the Afghan National Army in Shalgar district.

Afghan Local Police’s element surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with his weapon in Muqur district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed four bases in Bala Buluk district.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 12 and wounded 17 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three bases in Chora and Khas Urozgan districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed six elements of the Afghan National Police in Khas Urozgan district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Police’s patrol in Wano area of the city of Tarinkot, reportedly destroying a vehicle, as well as killing and wounding four policemen. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Landi Kosi area of the city of Tarinkot, capital of Urozgan Province.

Three elements of the Afghan National Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with their weapons in Seydano area of Khas Urozgan district.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Shah Joy district. The two killed elements were reportedly from Pakistan.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and arrested six elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed eight bases and dismantled 55 improvised explosive devices in Jerashk, Garmsir, Nad Ali, and Marjah districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan repelled Afghan National Security Forces’ offensive in Nawi Killi, Darab Hasht, and Khashra Bazar areas of Garmsir district, reportedly killing and wounding five elements.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Khaksar Jamea area of Nahri Saraj district, reportedly destroying a vehicle, as well as killing and wounding six soldiers. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was wounded in the encounter.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan National Police in Zarh Sahib area of Nawa-I-Barakzayi district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Salsun area of Maruf district. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were reportedly killed in the encounter, while the remaining elements withdrew from the area. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was wounded in the encounter. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a PK machine gun, an RPG launcher, and four assault rifles from the checkpoint.

CJTF-OIR:

Between the 6th and the 12th of April 2018 CJTF-OIR has conducted ten strikes in Syria. CJTF-OIR‘s main focus in Syria at the moment is Deir al-Zour-Albu Kamal region where they did three strikes supporting SDF‘s operations against IS destroying an IS vehicle, an IS fighting position, and three IEDs.

Other areas where seven strikes occurred are Al-Shadaddi and Dashisha, destroying four IS vehicles and two IS logistics hubs. Full report on CJTF-OIR strikes conducted in both Syria & Iraq can be found here.
