Damascus:

Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets) and the Syrian American Medical Society released a joint statement stating that last night the Syrian Arab Armed Forces conducted a chemical attack in the city of Douma in the East Ghouta. According to the statement, at least 42 civilians were killed, while more than 500 individuals were exposed to the chemicals. Reports suggest that the reported chemical attack was conducted by a Syrian Arab Air Forces’ helicopter, which dropped explosive objects containing chlorine.

Syrian Arab News Agency stated that the Syrian government and Jaysh al-Islam reached a new agreement, regarding the latter’s evacuation from Douma to Jarabulus in northern Aleppo. The new agreement states that Jaysh al-Islam will release all detainees from its prisons in Douma, in exchange for the evacuation. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, negotiations between the two were held throughout the night, after the Syrian Arab Army launched a military operation on Douma and made advances near the outskirts of the city.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) in Almar district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wounded Afghan National Army’s commander Babai in Baloch area of Shirin Tagab. Separately, an Afghan National Army’s vehicle was destroyed in the same area by an improvised explosive device.

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s element infiltrated an Afghan Local Police’s post and opened fire on the policemen in Archi (Dasht-e Archi) district. The infiltrator reportedly killed four policemen and seized a DShK heavy machine gun, before linking up with the nearby Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s elements.

Badakhshan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated Afghan National Police’s officer Ahmad in Yaftali Sufla (Yaftal-e-Payan) district.

Sar-e Pol Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Sayyad district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan Local Police’s checkpoint in Takhta area of Sayd Abad district. Six elements of the Afghan Local Police were reportedly killed in the encounter, while the remaining elements withdrew from the area. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two PK machine guns, two RPG launchers, and two assault rifles from the checkpoint.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed ten elements of the Islamic State in Deh Bala (Haska Meyna) district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated an element of the ‘National Directorate of Security’ in Ghani Khel district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Afghan Local Police in Surkh Rod district, killing three policemen. Similarly, one element of the Afghan National Police was killed and two wounded by an improvised explosive device in Khogyani district.

Maidan Wardak Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed an element of the Afghan Local Police in Jalga district. Similarly, an Afghan National Army’s element was killed by an improvised explosive device in Chaki Wardak district.

Logar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assassinated Afghan Local Police’s commander Qunduz in Baraki Rajan area of Baraki Barak district.

Herat Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 16 and wounded 22 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Chishti Sharif district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan killed four and wounded seven elements of the Afghan Local Police in Darqad area of Chishti Sharif district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized three assault rifles and 11 motorcycles from the encounter.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Giro and Deh Yak districts.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an Afghan National Police’s post in the city of Ghazni, reportedly killing three and wounding several policemen in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured three assault rifles, a DShK heavy machine gun, and large quantities of ammunition from the post.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Bala Buluk district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan destroyed an Afghan National Army’s vehicle in Garani area of Bala Buluk district, killing four soldiers.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 24 and wounded ten elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces arrested two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Arghandab district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Umar Khel Killi area of Naw Bahar district.

Helmand Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan National Army in Zarh Sahib area of Nawa-I-Barakzayi district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran an Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Sro Chahano area of Shorabak district, reportedly killing five soldiers in the process. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two assault rifles, two PK machine guns, and large quantities of ammunition from the checkpoint.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
