Aleppo:

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army announced temporary (three days) closure of roads and three crossings with the Syrian Democratic Forces-held city of Manbij. Reports suggest that the closure was decided due to security reasons. Free Syrian Army’s Liwa al-Shamal stated that the closure has nothing to do with the military operation which could start in Manbij area nor with the reported United States Army’s withdrawal from the areas bordering the Free Syrian Army.

Al-Jabhat al-Shamiyah (Levant Front) belonging to Al-Jaysh al-Watani al-Suri’s (Syrian National Army) Faylaq al-Thalith (Third Corps/Legion) announced separation with Katibat Shuws al-Haqq, due to the latter’s involvement in the initial robberies and looting in the city of Afrin. Al-Jabhat al-Shamiyah also prohibited Katibat Shuws al-Haqq from joining any faction/body affiliated with Al-Jaysh al-Watani al-Suri, and forwarded the violations by the group to a military court. Katibat Shuws al-Haqq is a military faction consisting of 52 elements, under the leadership of Abu Raid Menagh.

Several left over YPG‘s improvised explosive device allegedly killed seven civilians near Fafin village. Similarly, two elements of the Free Syrian Army were killed by an improvised explosive device near the city of Afrin.

Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets) announced that the organization started operations in Afrin again, two years after being suspended by the YPG. The organization also stated that its elements are already deployed in the city of Afrin and surrounding areas, removing rubble and barriers, as well as providing services to the local population.

Hama:

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham kidnapped director of Morek crossing, Abdul Wahid al-Dali two days ago. Al-Dali was appointed as the director of the crossing by Jabhat Tahrir Suriya. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham reportedly kidnapped Al-Dali in order to promote a prisoner exchange deal with Jabhat Tahrir Suriya, however, the latter remained silent on the matter.

Damascus:

Evacuation of civilians from the East Ghouta continued today through Al-Wafideen crossing, north of Jaysh al-Islam-held city of Douma. Syrian Arab News Agency stated that several hundreds of civilians went through the corridor towards Syrian Arab Army-held areas today, while more than 1700 civilians used the corridor to leave Douma yesterday.

Sixth batch of Faylaq al-Rahman’s elements and their families were evacuated from Arbeen in the East Ghouta to Idlib. Syrian Arab News Agency stated that 4797 individuals, including 1439 fighters were evacuated today.

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the group’s sniper killed an element of the Syrian Arab Army near Al-Yarmouk camp, south of Damascus.

Daraa:

Free Syrian Army repelled Islamic State-affiliated Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid’s infiltration attempt into Al-Bakar village. Five elements of Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid were reportedly killed in the failed infiltration attempt. According to the reports, Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Walid launched this infiltration attempt, due to the Free Syrian Army detaining a vehicle carrying ammunition to the group earlier in the day.

Improvised explosive device targeted a vehicle of the Free Syrian Army on the road between Al-Karak and Rakham. Four elements of the Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh Ahrar al-Ashair and one civilian present in the area at the time of the explosion were wounded. The wounded civilian was transferred to a hospital in Al-Hirak, while the wounded elements were transferred to a hospital in Al-Ghariyah. Free Syrian Army’s Jaysh Ahrar al-Ashair accused Syrian Arab Army of planting the improvised explosive device.

Syrian government conducted an exchange deal with the civilian and military committee in Dael, at a checkpoint east of Dael. The committees in Dael handed over a list of prisoners to free, in exchange for the body of a Syrian Arab Army’s lieutenant. However, the Syrian government only released one arrested woman in exchange for the killed lieutenant. According to the reports, the Syrian Arab Army’s lieutenant was killed a week ago, during a failed infiltration attempt on Tell Khader near Dael.

Iraq

Anbar:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the group’s improvised explosive device destroyed an Iraqi Army’s Humvee and killed two soldiers in Bilad al-Sham area, east of Al-Rutba.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) raided Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Qazal Kotal area of Qaysar district.

Takhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a headquarters and two fighting positions in Khwaja Ghar district.

Nuristan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed an element of the Afghan Local Police in Kamdesh district.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight elements of the Islamic State, including two commanders; Hassan Khan and Mohammad Allah in Chapa Dara district.

Kabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed Afghan National Army’s vehicle and killed three soldiers in Shakar Darah district.

Laghman Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Army’s positions in Alingar and Alishing districts, reportedly killing two and wounding four soldiers. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was wounded in the encounter.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces arrested two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Ghani Khel district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device wounded two elements of the Afghan National Security Forces in Ghani Khel district.

Paktia Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed a vehicle and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Zurmat district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported shelling of an Afghan National Security Forces’ base in Zurmat district, which reportedly killed at least four elements.

Ghor Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan Local Police’s positions in Taywara district, killing two and wounding two policemen.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 21 and wounded 18 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as seized two vehicles, and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Khani Qala village, Andar district, and outskirts of Ghazni city, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed Afghan National Army’s convoy in Shalgar district, reportedly destroying two tanks with RPGs, as well as killing four and wounding five soldiers. Two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed in the encounter.

Afghan National Police’s element surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with two assault rifles in Shalgar district.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 31 and wounded 21 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in “Black Forest” area and Bala Buluk district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Among the 31 killed elements are three Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commanders; Hadi, Sardar, and Moaz, as well as seven elements from Pakistan.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 44 and wounded 23 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan,a s well as captured several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Deh Rawud district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Police’s foot patrol in Lablan area of Deh Rawud district, killing one and wounding one policeman.

Afghan National Police’s element surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Lablan area of Deh Rawud district. Separately, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan arrested two elements of the Afghan National Army, while they were retreating from the group’s attacks in Chora district.

Zabul Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Mizan district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported clashes with the Afghan National Security Forces in Takair area of Mizan district, destroying two armored personnel carriers and killing six elements. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed Afghan National Security Forces’ vehicle and killed two elements in the same area.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and wounded three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed two fighting positions in Nahri Saraj district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers killed eight elements of the Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police, and Afghan Local Police in Marjah (Camp area), Nad Ali (Qari Posti area), and Nawa-I-Barakzayi (Tangano Godar and Zarh Sahib areas) districts.

Kandahar Province:

Two Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive devices targeted Afghan National Army in Kondalan area of Shah Wali Kot district, destroyed an armored personnel carrier and killing two soldiers. Similarly, an Afghan National Police’s vehicle was destroyed in Seyah Sang Dara area of Arghandab district by an improvised explosive device, while Afghan National Army’s tank was destroyed by an improvised explosive device in Khoshab area of Daman district.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
