Aleppo:

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army stated that special forces were deployed in Afrin city area, in order to hunt down “outlaws” who committed robbery and looting in the city. The special forces also set up checkpoints at the outskirts of Afrin to prevent stolen goods from leaving the city. Al-Jaysh al-Watani al-Suri’s (Syrian National Army) Faylaq al-Thalith (Third Corps/Legion) and Military Police from Azaz set up checkpoints in Kafr Jana and Qistal villages, and arrested more than 150 elements with stolen goods/property from Afrin city. Free Syrian Army and elders from Afrin city will reportedly form a committee in order to return the stolen goods/property to their owners.

Al-Jaysh al-Watani al-Suri’s (Syrian National Army) Faylaq al-Thalith (Third Corps/Legion) released a statement distancing/separating itself from Katibat Sayf al-Sham’s commander, Abdul Fatah Ibrahim and Katibat al-Waer’s commander, Fares al-Omar, due to their involvement in robberies and looting in the city of Afrin.

Syrian Democratic Forces’ YPG destroyed a vehicle of the Free Syrian Army with an anti-tank guided missile in Kala village of Bulbul subdistrict.

Several left over YPG‘s improvised explosive devices exploded in the city of Afrin. According to the reports, the explosions killed ten and wounded 15 elements of the Free Syrian Army, as well as killed 11 civilians.

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeted Free Syrian Army’s checkpoint in the village of Khulayat al-Awn, near Jarabulus. The explosion reportedly killed one and wounded one civilian. Several reports accused Syrian Democratic Forces of committing the attack, even though no one claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Raqqa:

Left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive device killed two civilians in Al-Thakna neighborhood of the city of Raqqa.

Hama:

Ahrar al-Sham arrested Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s commander, Yusuf al-Abdullah, as he was trying to flee from Al-Ghab Plain area towards areas under the control of the Syrian Arab Army. Al-Abdullah was arrested between Qalaat al-Madiq and Al-Hara, and reportedly planned to flee to Lebanon through Syrian Arab Army-held areas.

Deir al-Zour:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that several RPGs killed eight elements of the Syrian Arab Army in the vicinity of Al-Bukamal (Albu Kamal). Seprately, the agency also reported that a sniper killed an element of the Syrian Arab Army at the outskirts of Al-Bukamal.

Damascus:

Syrian Arab Army’s artillery and Syrian Arab Air Force targeted Douma, Harasta, and Ain Terma in the East Ghouta. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), at least 13 civilians were killed and dozens wounded by the targeting of Douma, while three civilians were killed and several wounded by the targeting of Ain Terma.

Rebel forces in the East Ghouta shelled Jaramana, as well as Al-Shaghour and Al-Duwaileah areas of the city of Damascus. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, two civilians were killed and three wounded by the shelling of the aforementioned localities.

Syrian Arab Army reportedly made advances against Jaysh al-Islam in the farms area north of Al-Rayhan in the East Ghouta.

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that 20 elements of the Syrian Arab Army were killed in an attack by the group in Al-Qadam neighborhood, south of Damascus.

Iraq

Baghdad:

Iraqi Security Forces conducted operations in Al-Abaid, Ahraba, and Albu Awsij areas, south of Baghdad. Security forces found two left over Islamic State’s improvised explosive devices and 12 various mortar shells.

Afghanistan

Kunduz Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) attacked Afghan National Army’s post in Char Darah district. Two elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and one wounded in the attack.

Kunar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed an element of the Islamic State in Sawkai district.

Kapisa Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Tagab district, wounding two soldiers. Separately, Afghan National Army’s element was killed by a sniper in Tagab district.

Nangarhar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed seven and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a motorcycle and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Haska Meyna (Deh Bala), Khogyani, and Momand Dara districts. One of the seven killed elements is Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commander, Abdul Aziz.

Improvised explosive device exploded in the city of Jalalabad, near the place where supporters of Hezb-e Islami Gulbuddin’s leader, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar were present. Gulbuddin Hekmatyar himself was in the area, but wasn’t affected by the explosion. According to the reports, the explosion killed three and wounded 12 individuals.

Islamic State’s vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeted Afghan Local Police’s bus carrying elements near Bahsoud bridge in the northeastern part of Jalalabad city, capital of Nangarhar Province. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the explosion killed four and wounded ten elements of the Afghan Local Police.

Khost Province:

National Directorate of Security arrested 14 elements of Haqqani network in the province. The arrested elements reportedly confessed their allegiance to commander Rahmatullah, and participated in the attack on Jani Khel district of Paktia Province, led by commander Rahmatullah.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Qali Charakh area of Qadis district. Four elements of the Afghan National Army were wounded, while one element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and another wounded in the encounter.

Herat Province:

Vehicle-borne improvised explosive device exploded in the center of Shindand district. Herat governor’s spokesman, Jilani Farhad stated that the explosion killed one and wounded seven, while the unofficial death toll is being reported as two killed and eight wounded.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded four elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar district.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported that Afghan National Security Forces’ convoy retreated from Pusht Rod district due to heavy casualties. The convoy arrived in the district 12 days ago, in order to conduct operations against the group. According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, 36 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed, 45 wounded, and nine vehicles destroyed during the clashes over the past 12 days. Three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were killed and five wounded in the encounters, according to the group. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reportedly seized an armorer personnel carrier and 22 assault rifles during the encounters.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed Afghan National Police’s tank in Takhsarak area of Bala Buluk district, reportedly killing seven and wounding two policemen.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Deh Rawud district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed four and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nawa-I-Barakzayi district.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed Afghan National Army’s vehicle in Sarkari Bagh area of Arghandab district, killing three and wounding one soldier.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.
