Aleppo:

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army, backed by Turkish Air and Land Forces captured 10 localities from the Syrian Democratic Forces’ YPG in Afrin region, as a part of the operation ‘Olive Branch’ (AR: Ghasin al-Zaytun, TR: Zeytin Dalı). Free Syrian Army captured Qarbash, Faqira, Kafr Dali, and Korka in Jindires subdistrict, Deir Mushamash, Al-Zariqat, and Deir Mushamash camp and several surrounding hills in Sharran subdistrict, and Kila, Magharjaq, and Darmashkanli in Shaykh al-Hadid sbudistrict.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhat Tahrir Suriya (Ahrar al-Sham and Harakat Nour al-Deen al-Zenki) clashed in Bisrtoun and Ajel in the western Aleppo, as the two localities as currently disputed between the two sides. Three civilians were reportedly wounded during the clashes in Bisrtoun village.

Idlib:

Remnants of Jund al-Aqsa formed Ansar al-Tawhid, under the leadership of one of Jund al-Aqsa’s founders, Abu Diab. Reports about the newly-formed group surfaced several days ago, but now the formation is officially confirmed. Ansar al-Tahwid is based in the city of Sarmin and has several hundreds of fighters.

Improvised explosive device killed a civilian near Al-Mafatah roundabout in the northern part of the city of Idlib.

Hama:

Turkish Armed Forces delegation visited Al-Ziyarah in northwestern Hama and inspected surrounding area, in preparations to establish two observation points in the area. According to the reports, delegation consisted of four vehicles and was allegedly escorted by the elements of the Turkistan Islamic Party.

Damascus:

Syrian Arab Army’s artillery and Syrian Arab Air Force targeted Hammouriyah, Jisreen, Kafr Batna, Saqba, Zamalka, Arbeen, and Ain Terma in the East Ghouta. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), four civilians were killed by the targeting of Saqba, while two civilians were killed by the targeting of Arbeen. Syrian Civil Defense also stated that one of its elements was killed and three wounded by the targeting of Zamalka.

Rebel forces in the East Ghouta shelled Jaramana and Harasta, as well as Ash al-Warwar, Bab Sharqi, and Al-Zablatani areas of the city of Damascus. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, one civilian was killed and three wounded by the shelling of the aforementioned localities.

Syrian Arab Red Crescent evacuated 25 wounded civilians from Douma in the East Ghouta through Al-Wafideen crossing. The evacuated civilians are reportedly receiving treatment in hospitals in the city of Damascus. This is one of several batches of wounded civilians that is expected to leave Douma.Yesterday, Jaysh al-Islam reached an agreement with Russia regarding evacuation of wounded individuals from Douma in the East Ghouta. The agreement was mediated by the United Nations.

Evacuation of rebel fighters and their families from Al-Qadam neighborhood south of Damascus is completed, as around 1300 individuals in total left the neighborhood towards Idlib. The evacuated individuals reached Qaalat al-Madiq crossing in western Hama and were reportedly transferred to a camp near Maarrat Misrin, with unconfirmed reports that a portion of them will be transferred to Jarabulus in northern Aleppo.

Islamic State exploited the evacuation of rebel fighters and their families from Al-Qadam neighborhood and launched an attack on Syrian Arab Army and rebels in the neighborhood during the evacuation. Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that the group captured several localities in the neighborhood and killed ten elements of the Syrian Arab Army in clashes. The agency also stated that a Syrian Arab Army’s tank was damaged with an RPG during the clashes in Al-Qadam neighborhood. Reports suggest that one civilian was killed by an Islamic State’s sniper in Al-Qadam.

Afghanistan

Kunduz Province:

Laghman Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) attacked Afghan Local Police’s post in Alishang district, reportedly killing four and wounding two elements of the police.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed two Jalalabad Mayor’s guards in the city of Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar Province.

Logar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and destroyed a vehicle in Khoshi district.

Khost Province:

Islamic State assassinated an element of the Afghan National Army near the city of Khost.

Herat Province:

Afghan National Security Forces arrested Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s governor of Kushk district, Mullah Abdul Rauf.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 19 and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Waghaz district. Among the 19 killed elements are four Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commanders; Harik Amin, Rahmatullah, Nazir, and Mullah Idris.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed and killed an element of the Afghan National Police in the city of Ghazni. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized an assault rifle from the killed element.

Farah Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Shamalgah area of the city of Farah. Five elements of the Afghan National Police were killed and four captured during the clashes for the checkpoint, while the remaining elements withdrew from the area. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized a motorcycle, an RPG launcher, two PK machine guns, 12 assault rifles, and large quantities of ammunition from the checkpoint.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 18 and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed three fighting positions and several weapons depots and ammunition caches in Chora and Khas Urozgan districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported an engagement with the Afghan National Army in Sariye area of Chora district, reportedly killing 12 elements of the army.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers reportedly killed 11 elements of the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police in Garam Ab and Sheikhi areas of Khas Urozgan district.

Afghan Local Police’s commander, Juma Khan surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khas Urozgan district.

Nimruz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed eight and wounded 30 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Khash Rod district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Afghan National Security Forces also destroyed a vehicle in the district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported that it overran a key Afghan National Army’s post in Khash Rod district, reportedly killing 10 elements of the army.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran Afghan National Army’s post in Haji Wair Killi area of Delaram district. According to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, 25 elements of the Afghan National Army were killed and two armored personnel carriers destroyed during the clashes for the post. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also engaged Afghan National Army’s reinforcements arriving in the area, reportedly destroying additional two armored personnel carriers. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seized two RPG launchers, two PK machine guns, an assault rifles, and large quantities of ammunition from the post.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 25 and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a vehicle, three motorcycles, five fighting positions, and 45 improvised explosive devices in Marjah, Kajaki, and Nad Ali district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported an attack on Afghan National Security Forces arriving in Darab Charrahi area of Marjah district, destroying two vehicles and killing six elements.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Parchaw area of Marjah district, reportedly killing and wounding nine elements of the police. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and two wounded in the encounter.

Kandahar Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 11 and wounded 20 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a vehicle in Shah Wali Kot and Panjwayi districts.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.

Islamic State’s improvised explosive device destroyed Egyptian Army’s bulldozer west of the city of Rafah.

Yemen:

Islamic State conducted a suicide attack in the city of Aden, reportedly killing at least ten civilians.
