Aleppo:

Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army, backed by Turkish Air and Land Forces captured 21 localities from the Syrian Democratic Forces’ YPG. in Afrin region, as a part of the operation ‘Olive Branch’ (AR: Ghasin al-Zaytun, TR: Zeytin Dalı). Free Syrian Army captured Altifla, Huran, Khadir Tahtani, Khadir Fawqani, Qustal Kishk, Dawbira, and Sulaqli in Bulbul subdistrict, Kafr Rum, Qurat Qulaq, Qurat Qulaq Saghira, Al-Khalidiyah, Tellat al-Khalidiyah, Qara Taba, Qaybar camp (Liwa 135 (135th Brigade)), and Jalbal in Sharran subdistrict, Zalaqa, Qariba, Kan Kurk, Kafr Zita, Kafr Zita camp, and Tallif in Jindires subdistrict. After today’s advances, the Free Syrian Army reached the outskirts of Afrin city.

Rebel “guerrilla” group Harakat al-Qiyam assassinated four elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the northern Aleppo region, in the past few days.

Deir al-Zour:

Islamic State’s Amaq Agency stated that a rocket-propelled grenade killed four elements of the Syrian Arab Army at the outskirts of Al-Bukamal (Albu Kamal) in the eastern Deir al-Zour.

Damascus:

Syrian Arab Army’s artillery and Syrian Arab Air Force targeted Douma, Arbeen, Harasta, Mesraba, and Jisreen in the East Ghouta. According to the Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets), 20 civilians were killed by the targeting of Douma, while one civilian was killed and several wounded by the targeting of Harasta. Syrian Civil Defense also stated that its former director and co-founder of Damascus branch, Mohammed al-Masarwa was killed by the targeting of Douma.

Syrian Arab Army captured Mesraba in the East Ghouta from Jaysh al-Islam, getting a step closer to splitting the pocket into two. Syrian Arab Army also made advances against Ahrar al-Sham in the farms area northeast of Harasta, in an attempt to surround rebel-held parts of the locality.

Demonstrations against rebel factions were held in Hammouriyah in the East Ghouta, second day in a row.

Jaysh al-Islam released 13 elements of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, who were transferred to Idlib through Qalat al-Madiq crossing in the western Hama. Yesterday, Jaysh al-Islam reached an agreement with the United Nations’ delegation, regarding the release and transportation of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s elements to Idlib.

Syrian Arab Army gave Ajnad al-Sham, Liwa Mujahidi al-Sham, and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Al-Qadam neighborhood south of Damascus, 48 hours to accept evacuation from the neighborhood or prepare for a military operation. According to the reports, the rebel factions accepted the evacuation from Al-Qadam neighborhood to Idlib. The evacuation is expected to start within 48 hours, under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

Afghanistan

Faryab Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) killed Afghan Local Police’s commander Aman and two elements of the police, as well as wounded another two elements of the police in Yaka Toth area of Pashtun Kot district.

Two elements of the Afghan Local Police surrendered to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Jowzjan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed six elements of the Islamic State, including two fighters from Uzbekistan in Dzerab district.

Balkh Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s sniper killed an element of the Afghan Local Police in Chahi district.

Kunduz Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed nine and wounded five elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Archi (Dasht-e Archi) district.

Takhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Al-Emarah News stated that 32 elements of the Afghan National Security Forces were killed and 75 wounded in the yesterday’s large-scale operation by the group in Khwaja Ghar district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan captured 12 posts in the operation.

Baghlan Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device wounded three elements of the ‘National Directorate of Security’ in Baghlan-e-Markazi district.

Kapisa Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nijrab district. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported that the group repelled Afghan National Security Forces’ offensive in Nijrab district, killing four in the process and forcing the remaining elements to withdraw from the area.

Nangarhar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed Afghan National Police’s vehicle in the city of Jalalabad, killing two and wounding three policemen.

Badghis Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Tarako area of Muqur district, reportedly killing one and wounding one soldier.

Afghan National Army’s commander, Abdullah Shafar was wounded in clashes with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Qali Zardak area of Dara Boom district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s improvised explosive device destroyed Afghan National Army’s vehicle in Darwish Muhammadano area of Murghab district, reportedly killing two and wounding two soldiers.

Ghazni Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed five and wounded seven elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Andar district.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan overran Afghan National Police’s checkpoint at the outskirts of Ghazni, reportedly killing two and wounding three policemen.

Farah Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 24 and wounded 12 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Bala Buluk district, according to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. Afghan National Security Forces also destroyed three vehicles, two motorcycles, and headquarters.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan ambushed Afghan National Police’s elements in Deh Yak area of the city of Farah. Three elements of the Afghan National Police were reportedly killed, five wounded, and two tanks destroyed in the ambush.

Urozgan Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed three and wounded two elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed several weapons depots in the city of Tarinkot, capital of Urozgan Province. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reported that its sniper killed two elements of the Afghan National Army in Garam Ab area of the city of Tarinkot.

Zabul Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Army’s positions in Jeldak area of Shahr-e-Safa district, reportedly killing two soldiers. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was killed and one wounded in the encounter.

Afghan Local Police’s element defected to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Kocheni Shara area of Seyuri district.

Helmand Province:

Afghan National Security Forces killed 14 and wounded 12 elements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as destroyed a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, 51 kilograms (112 pounds) of explosives, and three bases in Nahri Saraj, Nad Ali, and Jerashk districts. Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commander, Malanjib is one of the 14 killed elements.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan attacked Afghan National Police’s checkpoint in Tori Shah area of Sangin district, reportedly killing and wounding six elements of the police. One element of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was also killed in the encounter.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s snipers reportedly killed six elements of the Afghan National Army in Shin Gul Charrahi and Nawrozo areas of Nad Ali district. Similarly, two elements of the Afghan National Police were killed by a sniper in the 4th Police District of the city of Lashkar Gah, capital of Helmand Province.

Kandahar Province:

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan raided Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in Jalil Bagh area of Khakrez district, reportedly killing two soldiers. Afghan National Army’s armored personnel carrier was also destroyed by an improvised explosive device, as it was arriving in the area where the raid was taking place.

CJTF-OIR:

CJTF-OIR announced a change in their publishing policy. Now two strikes reports will be published each week, on Mondays and Fridays.

Amaq Agency:

Libya:

Islamic State conducted a suicide attack against the Libyan National Army in the city of Ajdabiya, south of Benghazi. According to the Islamic State’s Amaq Agency, the attack damaged four vehicles, as well as killed and wounded several elements of the Libyan National Army.
