Military events/news are listed below by the governorates:
Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces, backed by Liwa al-Quds, restarted their offensive against the Islamic State in the western Raqqa governorate. SAA captured Bir al-Zanati, Bir al-itaw and Bir Houran from the Islamic State.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham continued its anti-Islamic State operation in Idlib governorate, by arresting at least four individuals accused of belonging to the group. In Sarmin, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham discovered a warehouse formerly used by the Islamic State’s cells, containing explosive belts and two VBIEDs.
Ahrar al-Sham and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham reportedly clashed in the village of Killi, with reports about casualties, but the exact numbers are unknown at the moment.
Syrian Arab Army and Islamic State clashed in the vicinity of the village of Dakila, the former reportedly lost six soldiers in the clashes.
Syrian Arab Army’s positions, east of Arak, were targeted by Islamic State’s SVBIED. Amaq Agency claimed that the SVBIED attack killed at least 11 SAA‘s soldiers.
Syrian Arab Army reportedly made limited advances in Al-Khair markets area, on Ain Terma front. Syrian and Russian warplanes supported this latest push, as well as targeted other localities held by rebels. Faylaq al-Rahman, group manning the Ain Terma -Jobar fronts, reported destruction of two SAA‘s tanks and a BMP, as the Syrian Arab Army tried to advance.
Syrian Arab Air Force and Russian Air Force carried out more than 10 air raids over Jobar, Ain Terma and Haza. One airstrike targeted both Kafr Batna and Arbin. Increase of airstrike activity also increased reports about the civilian casualties in the East Ghouta, at least three people were killed in the raids and a dozen injured.
Jaysh al-Islam released a video statement stating that they accept suggestion made by ‘Rebel military council of East Ghouta’, which included dissolution of all armed factions and formation of a unified “Syrian National Army” under one command.
Syrian Arab Army and allies continued advancing south of Al-Seen Air Base, capturing Abu Khashbah and Khabrat Raqaba. If SAA continues with regular advances on this front, a new sizeable rebel pocket will be formed, northeast of Al-Suwayda.

Improvised explosive device exploded on the road near Inkhil, killing two elements of the Free Syrian Army’s Furqat al-Hamza (Hamza Division). Commander in Al-Awiat Mujahideen Houran (Houran Mujahideen Brigade), part of Hamza Division, Abdul al-Karim al-Wadi, was killed in the explosion along with one fighter.
Islamic State raided houses of Al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s (Popular Mobilization Units) fighters in the village of Al-Boer, east of Tal Afar. The raid resulted in death of 11 Iraqi fighters, according to the Amaq Agency.
Islamic State’s improvised explosive device targeted Al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s vehicle, reportedly killing six and wounding nine fighters, near the village of Al-Zarka.
Yesterday, two Peshmerga fighters were allegedly killed by Islamic State’s sniper at the outskirts of Al-Zarka village.
Islamic State’s inghimasi (suicide fighters) attacked headquarters belonging to the Iraqi forces in the city of Karma, northeast of Al-Fallujah. Inghimasi attack reportedly killed nine Iraqi troops, including an officer and wounded another 14 fighters.
On the 12th of July 2017 CJTF-OIR has conducted 19 strikes in Syria. CJTF-OIR‘s main focus in Syria at the moment is Raqqa region where they did 12 strikes supporting SDF‘s operations against IS destroying nine fighting positions, a command and control node, an anti-air artillery system, a VBIED, and a tunnel.
Other areas where seven airstrikes occurred are Abu Kamal (Al-Bukamal) and Deir al-Zour, destroying two IS oil tanks, an oil refinery building, 16 IS oil stills, 10 oil barrels, six oil trucks, and two well-heads. Full report on CJTF-OIR strikes conducted in both Syria & Iraq can be found here.
Islamic State’s fighters ambushed a supply truck headed for the United State’s base in Jalalabad city.
Islamic State killed an officer and four members of the Pakistani police in an attack on the western part of Quetta.
Amaq Agency reported that Philippine Air Force mistakenly targeted Philippine Army’s position in Baling district of Marawi, reportedly causing 11 casualties among the Army’s ranks.
